We'll probably find out about the football tomorrow in the ITV Media chart.

Anyone know how Manchester City v Leicester did on BT Sport?
From the BT Sport thread over on Broadcasting:

Man City v Leicester 815,000 (peak 1.339 million)

Good figure.

I'd be fascinated to see how many Brits watch Melodifestivalen. I wonder if it would do well on BBC Four.

A UK version to replace The Voice would be amazing, but they would probably struggle to get enough decent songs to make it worthwhile.
I don't see why not, there's loads of singer's and songwriters out there and last night''s Melfest heat wasn't packed with fabulous songs- It'd be a good platform to showcase new music (not that the beeb would do it but it's a phenomenon in Sweden so trying to emulate that (and it's 70% + shares) might be worth considering

Excellent for the rugby last night - the Calcutta Cup match was always going to get he BBC off to a great start for this years tournament. It'll be fascinating to see how Ireland v Wales did for ITV today.

The Voice is a slightly strange one. None of the changes they've made did look particularly appealing, but for the first time the impact seems very pronounced on ratings. i guess it'll only enhance the desire for a complete reboot on ITV next year - but if what's really dragging it down is singing show fatigue, then no amount of relaunches will help it. It does strike me that such an extensive deal (and one that includes Voice Kids) is looking like a shakier bet than it seemed a few months back.

I almost want them to bring back the Generation Game - just so it cam bomb horribly, and then finally people will stop suggesting bringing back the Generation Game. Seriously, it's sounds like it's been piloted a number of times, with different hosts, and always faded away before it's made it to screen. I don't doubt that will be for a reason!
Why would you want something to 'bomb horribly' when they could use the slot and have something better and even finding the next Strictly?

ITV ran a trailer for Life At The Extreme fronted by Davina McCall tonight, so I'm wondering if this will land Wednesday 8pm with Grantchester at 9pm.

#Countryfile gets bigger and bigger - a stonking 8.7m watched on @BBCOne last night, a 40% share of TV viewing

Holy smokes!

Based on overnights, Countryfile is now the most watched show of the year!

Wow, massive rating, for what is a good series. But that's what you get when you keep a missive flop up against an already big factual series, and it just grows.

ITV are already starting to make it impossible to rate well against CF again, as they keep gifting it default viewers. The 7pm sot will end up another dead zone if they're not careful.

We never saw these kid of figures when ITv was stronger in the 7pm hour.

They're higher on BBC1 when Strictly is on in the 7pm hour.

But this is getting very surreal!

Call the Midwife took that lead-in and said thank you very much indeed - up to 8.07m (32.0%).

These ratings for Countryfile are bigger than even with SCD. Usually that's rating between 7-8m with the inflaion at the end as viewers tune into SCD.

ITV usually has something on which is not under 1.5m. Even J&H was hovering around 2m, until the last few eps.

But there are more viewers available in Jan/Feb

Channel 4's The Jump was down to 1.68m (7.0%) for its second outing, in a forgettable night for the channel. The following two programmes did less than 2.7% share.

Full roundup coming up very shortly.

Thank you.

Whatever the Countryfile team are doing is certainly working well.

Insane rating for Countryfile! As long as ITV keeps Beowulf at 7pm I can't see it dropping either. Incredible stuff.

Looks like it boosted Midwife too which has been a little down on previous years lately. Wonder if Vera took a knock?

Am hearing 1.7m for Beowulf.

Hope Vera held onto to over 5m, but I won't hold me breath. Beowulf will likely have dropped to less than 1.4m I suspect, and is still in its 7pm slot.

How on earth is Countryfile doing so well? Is it improving in quality or are there some must-see moments in it?

The Jump really did need to be stripped across the week, not just on Sundays, to hold interest.

Will we get a Super Bowl rating today or tomorrow since the programme didn't finish until 3:30am?

Great night for BBC1 across the board with War & Peace ending on a strong note.

Last week Vera got 4.05m without HD and +1 so it doesn't seem to have dipped much in week 2 despite the strengthened opposition.

A rating should be available for up to 2am, so it may well get reported by Broadcast later.

Have to say it was an incredibly underwhelming game, with Panthers' offense majorly frustrated on the night.

The BBC coverage was bizarre at times, especially inviting Martin O'Neill up into their pundits box.

Why is it that ITV han't pulled Beowulf? Surely its doing no better keeping it in the 7pm slot that if they pushed it into earlier in he evening?

Its as if they re doing to make any more money from it being under 2m really is it?
