Wonder if Scott and Bailey and Dark Angel might be going to Thursdays after Jericho? I would guess it means ITV can show a one-off on Easter Monday before launching a new drama series in April.

Be interesting to know the age splits.

Yes. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be up for grabs. I think Grantchester will get Wednesdays, S&B/Dark Angel on Thursdays and Mission Survive on Fridays.

I'd guess that Maigret Sets a Trap might get Easter Monday. Churchill's Secret is being trailed so I guess that'll turn up before then, possibly once Vera is done.

Maigret might be shown on both Easter Sunday and Easter Monday if Maigret's Dead Man is ready, Churchill's Secret I would guess is the 28th February if they are already trailing it, does ITV have any other one-off dramas?

Has DS got their ratings access back do we think and if so why are they not doing fuller roundups?

Assuming that the 61k (0.3%) DS is wrongly reporting for the +1 showing of The X-Files is actually for The X-Files: Reopened's +1 screening, then would that not indicate that DS now has access of some kind?

Nobody else is reporting this number, so where else would they have got it from?

No other one offs as far as I know. They might do that with Maigret but aren't they self contained films? Would feel a bit odd running them on consecutive nights. I guess Maigret's Dead Man might be for later in the year.

If they're midway through a series they might just plough through as normal on Easter Sunday. I'm not sure what they're going to show on Sundays at 8pm or 9pm once Vera/Churchill have aired.

X Files had 330k on +1 so around 3.5m in tottal.

I know! I would trust you and your sources over DS any day of the week, just a bit curious about the situation with DS and where exactly this 61k figure would come from if they don't have any access. It's a little puzzling to say the least.

Doctor Thorne is a possibility but its a 3 parter so would end the week before Easter Sunday. The tie-in book is scheduled for 3rd March which suggests its coming that month

I can see Line Of Duty 3 being Wednesdays in March on BBC2 so potential police drama clashes with ITV.

It's odd because 61,000 doesn't tally with X Files Reopened or any +1 figure for X Files. No idea where that figure came from.

Maybe they never lost their access but just decided the full reports didn't fit in with their new (awful) editorial style?

X files was good.

Eastenders ratings are dreadful it was avering 7.5-7.8 last year on a monday or two years ago now it rating 6.5-6.6 on a monday. They have a lost a one million very quickly. I wonder how it going to be like in summer or later in the year, I suspect 5 million just poor.

Good news I have some soap ratings for yesterday.

Coronation Street 7.30pm: 7.75m (35.9%) and 70k (0.3%) on +1
Coronation Street 8.30pm: 7.35m (32.3%) and 140k (0.6%) on +1
Emmerdale: 6.59m: (32.4%) and 100k (0.5%) on +1
EastEnders: 6.59m (29.3%) and 379k (2.2%) on +1.
Doctors: 1.65m (21.7%)
Hollyoaks: 840k (4.2%) and 100k (0.5%) on +1

Will some of that BBC3 audience go to iPlayer and bump up ratings for EastEnders?

I just had a brainwave !

What if C5 is planning to surprise us next week and finally launch C5HD on Freeview and Freesat?

BBC Three will no longer be needing the HD capacity on that multiplex as of Tuesday next week, and apparently there is already some spare capacity on that same mux.

It could explain why C5's rebrand - which is supposedly imminent - did not launch as expected around their most watched programme for 5 years last night. They could be saving it for a bigger event next week.

Wishful thinking on my part? Probably. But it's as plausible a theory as any at this stage. All is not as it seems, that is for sure. Definitely something going on...

The X Files was good, an average episode is still better than most dramas out there. I don't understand why it had such bad reviews. Putting it on a level of bad with Beowulf and The Interceptor?

Why can't EastEnders keep its audience? Any ideas?

I actually like the current idents for Channel 5, I'd rather they add more than change them. It's versatile branding as a concept.

Well done to the x-files. It's a fantastic rating. A million higher than CBB did in that slot last week too. It's good to see a us drama so well and higher than the trashy benefit shows.

I like some of them and versatile is the word for the overall concept with the Stage 5, something their new look is unlikely to provide to the same extent, but you have to keep moving on as the programming proposition evolves. The one with the woman walking down the red carpet and the photographers flashing their cameras, does it really reflect where the channel is today? Or does it more accurately reflect what it was like under Desmond with OK! TV every night and a more celeb-focussed lineup?

For me change is needed. But by far and away the bigger more significant change would be the HD channel going free. With 105 set to become available on the EPG, one less entertainment channel on Freeview in the evenings and The X-Files keeping them competitive in the ratings post-CBB, there's surely never been a better time to make that switch. Make it happen Viacom !

The refresh must be pretty soon if they're making name changes to 5Star and 5HD in two days. I wouldn't be surprised if they're timing it with BBC Three going off air

From Mediatel :

Panorama: 2.6m
Crimewatch: 3.1m (14%)
Benidorm: 4.2m (19%)

Mediatel figures exclude +1 and are not tape checked

How do we expect Happy Valley to do tonight then ? One of the unexpectedly high raters of 2015, word of mouth really helping it along to post a 7.2m series average in the consolidated ratings.

Any reason why Series 2 couldn't be as successful?

It is now competing with emmerdale, just not good enough.
