Yes, they are lovely.

I think they've sacrificed the logo for the 'group of five' idea. I'm not sure where they could've placed the logo in any of those idents really.

I guess that's the idea but it's not quite strong enough, is it? You don't want people thinking the really interesting documentary they watched last night and might tell their workmates about was actually on C4, because this new look is very C4 in style but far better than their recent effort.

On the whole though a big upgrade on what they have now and shows Viacom mean business. A beautifully produced ident package, let down by a slightly dubious logo that isn't present on the idents.

Looks like they're doing a Channel 4 and not putting the ident in the logo. Weirdly it's not the first time they've had logoless indents, they had identified in 2006 which just had words like hope and fear in the typography.

I like the 5USA logo and idents, not keen on 5Star though, I'm surprised theyre rebranding Demand 5 to My5 but I'm guessing it's getting a revamp, It's similar to All4 and ITV Hub. Seems BBC iPlayer is the only catch up service that still has its original name. Demand 5 was originally Five Download and was one of the first catch up services.

Yeah, it should result in higher consolidated figures rather than live viewing (in theory). It will be interesting to see how many viewers end up watching on W.

I think it's just EE new level now. It's been consistently in this range for quite a while. Sadly, the days of it regularly getting over 7m is long gone. It seems to have settled as a 6-7m show with 7-8m in the consolidated ratings.

The 28-day figures for EE are very interesting because it still continues to timeshift well after the 7-day period, which is surprising considering the amount of episodes it airs. Even last July, the 28-day average for EE was 7.03m - up from 5.91m in the overnight average and 6.89m in the 7-day average. Similarly in December, the overnight average was a very low 5.96m but the 28-day average was a much more respectable 7.16m.

So it just seems people are more willing to watch EE on catch up these days, rather than live.

I liked Demand 5 as a name personally. I don't know why it's the in thing at the moment to rebrand these catchup services every 5 minutes, but it's definitely a trend. Maybe it's something to do with how buggy and unreliable they were to begin with and a feeling it may have put some viewers off using them? I know Demand 5 doesn't have the best reputation of the OD players, although I rarely have problems with it and sometimes there's no advertising during.

These are the best idents that C5 and 5USA have ever had in my opinion. 5star looks to be a bit of an afterthought as usual. The stings are nice as well, especially this one: https://vimeo.com/154304206

I wonder if Tattoo Fixers will be over 1m now that there is less competition in the 9pm slot. It was averaging over 800k before, do we reckon it will climb?

Excellent start for The X Files last night. It was great to see it back on TV last night after all these years. I just wish it was longer than 6-episodes though.

Hollyoaks: 840k (4.2%) and 100k (0.5%) on +1

Will some of that BBC3 audience go to iPlayer and bump up ratings for EastEnders?”

Thanks cylon.

So Emmerdale and EE dead level last night on first showings. Emmerdale has been very strong recently ratings wise. Corrie did well. That first rating is its best rating since 4th Jan 2016 when the first episode averaged 8.1m.

I just hope there isn't a Broadchurch-esque online backlash this time. It was unnecessary the last time and essentially just boiled down to the press latching onto some colourful tweets and blowing it out of proportion. Happy Valley 1 didn't reach Broadchurch levels of hype so hopefully that will mean it avoids the knives this time around.”

Never saw Happy Valley series 1. Recording it tonight. But need to get the first series first to catch up. Heard a lot of good things first time around. I'm sure it will do well.

Another of their strongest actresses gone. The show is in a right state.”

Yes, agree. Losing Paula Lane is another massive blow for Corrie.

The sooner Kate Oates can sort it out, the better!

Emmerdale has been brilliant recently with the Aaron storyline. It's the most consistent soap quality wise IMO.

Demand 5 has a nice ring to it and explain what is it, My5 doesn't scream catch up service in the same way ITV Hub does (neither does All 4 TBH) I hope the website gets a revamp because it's been neglected for too long.

It'll be interesting to see the typography and also what's the promo trailers and print ads are like.

Happy Valley was good tonight, but like Broadchurch it just doesn't have the same impact as the 1st series. But I think that is a-given for most series.

Despicable Me 2 is likely going to do very well for ITV. 5m or more wouldn't surprise me. Both Channel 4 and 5 have Disney films in similar slots. Inside Buckingham Palace sounds like an interesting programme that wouldn't be out of place on ITV or BBC One.

5 are lacking film wise, you would think they'd be showing premieres like Transformers or Mission Impossible, they showed The Internship and have Homefront and Carrie coming up but Channel 4 has much better film selection.

Was not expecting Person of Interest to be on a Wednesday night. It's never aired on this night before either.

I hope they don't burn the whole series off in constant double-bills. They normally wait until midpoint to do that from recent runs. It's just annoying airing it until midnight.

I wish they'd have moved it to 5USA. It could maybe do okay over there.

Just noticed that was Despicable Me 2 and not the 1st one. Given how the 1st film does, if ITV give this a few trailers, I wouldn't be suprised to see this above 5.5m leading into Takeaway. Thus Saturday Night Takeaway will ge a boost from this perfect scheduling.

Despicable Me is the gift thar=t just keeps on giving for ITV. I expect a rpt of this will turn up the following weekend on ITV2.

Is Despicable Me 2 a network premiere?

The writing was on the wall when they had her kill Callum. The actress also mentioned wanting to do other things a while back.

It is. I think having it lead into Takeaway is really good scheduling. A rarity for ITV to actually offer one of its big Saturday shows some support in the schedule. The likes of X Factor, BGT and Takeaway are normally expected to pretty much self start.

They certainly aren't giving The Voice an easier time in light of its struggles though as some thought they might.

They should promote it though, I've not seen anything yet. They did a really good trailer for the premiere of Amazing Spider-Man last year so they can promote movies well when they want to.

It is excellent scheduling. The demos will crossover so well and give Takeaway so much better support than YBF. I'm expecting over 7m for Takeaway with this lead in.

Whatver the rating TVUK gets this year, they'll be interest in the series on ITV, so I suspect they are not too worried.

I think The Voice on ITV will be up on this year on BBC1 but can see BBC1 putting Pointless Celebrities opposite it.
