Yes I did, and about time too. His tenure has been so poor. Don't get me wrong, some of the factual series have been good and of high quality, but piss poor scheduling of factual (always at 9pm) and Klien not getting ITV factual, its just been a disaster.

You can't have BBC4 stuff on ITV.

Mmm..I'm not sure. I think TVUK wil be around 5-6m. When it arrives on ITV it'll likely loose the older audience BBC1 gains, particularly if they put Pointless/Countryfile up against it.

The bloodbath at ITV makes a mockery of all those gushing Adam Crozier quotes about Fincham when he announced his own, er, absolutely 100% voluntary departure just a month ago. It's a tacit admission that the network lost its way under Fincham, and needs speedy, radical surgery.

Some of us have been pointing this out for a good while now. Why it's taken Crozier and his fellow board members so long to recognise the glaringly obvious, Lord only knows.

Doesn't anyone have that pesky rating for Lip Sync Battle yet?

Maybe Kevin Lygo has got his feet under the table already.

ITV are like Arsenal. Should be more successful on the pitch but they make money so the board are happy. Several high profile department heads leaving ITV in a short space of time. I'm sure it's all a big coincidence! Yes. That's it.

1.10m / 9.9% share (credit to rzt)

Considering the slot and the questionable choice of celebs for a young-skewing show on this particular episode, a real triumph I feel.

The show has a future in this country, even if it doesn't occasionally have A-listers on like the US version.

I think if it can get biggish names like Ant and Dec or even Peter Kay versus another big name comedian for series 2, it would draw in an audience. an almost 10% share at 11pm is nothing to be sniffed at. Walliams v Dixon was IMO the biggest names they got this series.

Yeah, they've missed him like crazy, haven't they? 'Gems TV', 'Hot Tub Britain' and 'Saved' would have been ratings gold on the Beeb.

I'm sure they're bursting to blow a load of money on bringing him back, despite that £500m saving they need to find.

Thanks cylon.

So Emmerdale and EE dead level last night on first showings. Emmerdale has been very strong recently ratings wise. Corrie did well. That first rating is its best rating since 4th Jan 2016 when the first episode averaged 8.1m.

Never saw Happy Valley series 1. Recording it tonight. But need to get the first series first to catch up. Heard a lot of good things first time around. I'm sure it will do well.

Yes, agree. Losing Paula Lane is another massive blow for Corrie.

The sooner Kate Oates can sort it out, the better!

Emmerdale has been brilliant recently with the Aaron storyline. It's the most consistent soap quality wise IMO.”

That's the reason I started watching as I was hearing a lot of great stuff online about the storyline.

Happy Valley returned to @BBCOne with a record overnight audience of 6.5m (28%) last night.

Excellent rating, I bloody loved it last night. Should get 8m in the officials.

Thanks for that.

Despicable Me 2 should do really well for ITV.

Surprised to see Channel 5 persisting with the NCIS: New Orleans and NCIS doubles on Fridays as it didn't work all that well last time, given that the first clashes with FOX.

Must be trying to get rid of Person of Interest if they're putting out doubles every week finishing at midnight.

Kinky Sex Night on Channel 4, classic.

I do think it's a shame that for first full week of Channel 5's new look they have ditched Lip Sync Battle, scrapped The Secret Life of the Family (81k in most recent officials) and shunted 10,000 BC to a graveyard slot (77-79k in most recent officials) and I would be surprised if repeats of The Boy With Giant Hands and Whitney and Bobby: Addicted to Love actually rate much higher, it would have been better for their reputation to let the programmes in their 'Welcome 2015, new year, new shows' campaign run their course.

I agree with all who thought HV was great - but was it not the perceived wisdom on this thread that it did not need a second series?

I used to think that but after Line Of Duty 2 improved on the first series, I realised some programmes can avoid inferior sequel syndrome.
