The highest rated BBC2 episode, on 11th December 1995: 7.53m.
The highest rated episode ever, on BBC1 on 2nd January 1997: 10.8m.

That's a fantastic consolidated number. I know that there was a drop between episodes on the overnights, but hopefully people will continue to catch up.
Episode three is a standalone episode away from the story arc.

No, sorry. The final episode on 23rd March 2003 wasn't in the BBC2 Top 30, so it was below 2..18m.

The current report shows the highest 28 day consolidated Sky Go figures, for an MTV show Ex On The Beach of 32,471!!
I know BARB are only reporting Apple for Sky Go, but why the massive discrepancy?
Surely Sky know more than BARB how many are using Sky Go?

BARB takes into account length of time viewing.
Also that blog (published 31 March 2014) is most likely talking about reach across the whole series. EDIT: True Detective started on 22 February 2014 (linearly) so it can't be the whole series, but possibly a number of episodes.

And Brookside had two cast members in a scene Corrie autograph hunting outside the Quay Street Granada studio in Manchester!
Like the East Enders BBC 3 scene last night these are usually just nice in jokes for TV fans.
Oh, and by the way This Morning reported today that Ant and Dec are planning a return to acting and have made several pilots to try out projects. Though not for transmission.

If BARB's figures were accurate, you have to wonder why broadcasters bother to offer any on demand viewing.
All the millions Sky spend on Sky Go just to get a few thousand watching a Viacom programme!!

I remember a character in Corrie once said "It's like an episode of The Bill" which of course Harry Hill was all over that week
So ED beat EE last night and only 74k watched on W? It even lost half the viewers from the programme before it. That's got to be disappointing?

I would say that was a draw for the two soaps last night. The ITV figure includes the plus 1.
I don't think anyone was expecting W to get as many viewers as BBC 3 considering the limited number of homes that it is available in, whereas BBC 3 was available to everyone.
