On reflection the marked difference between BB and CBB is on show for all to see

BB...they play to win money...and perhaps notoriety
CBB...they're already paid so what are they playing for...notoriety in Gemma's case

If BB were so obviously manipulated in such a way CBB we're assuming it has over immunity then they'd have every right to be miffed

In CBB they can it seems walk in or out, opt in or out dependent on their perceived airtime value. To a point that's the same on BB but the loss is potentially winning which is not guaranteed anyway whereas in CBB the money is almost in their pocket anyway

In Gemma's case, she stays as it's in her interest to do so, like customers seeing her and wanting to buy her goods. This series isn't the CBB we have known because of Gemma business interests.
