Two points:

(1) Just because BB said Gemma had left the house to go and get stitches doesn't mean that Gemma did ACTUALLY get stitches FROM THE HOSPITAL. As I said earlier, she could have had proper hospital sewing-type stitches, or steri-strips applied by a non-hospital person.... or [brace yourself] no stitches at all!

(2) Have we seen a picture of this "stitched" digit which shows the stitches?

Well.... to be fair, given this governments handling of the NHS many MacDonalds do now have their own hospital attached.

I don't think it was deliberate but I think the combination of huge knife and huge stupid nails played a huge part..

I don't really see your point i.e. what difference does it make which type of stitches she had? Basically, a qualified medic at the house assessed that it was bad enough of a cut to go to A&E, as announced.
Whether the cut was a deliberate act by Gemma, or an accident, it was not a fake cut and the chopping board blood was real. That's all I was trying to say.
We may learn more tonight.

Gemma is many things but I doubt she would risk her finger for airtime.

After seeing a medic in the Diary Room, she is taken to hospital for stitches before returning to the house to re-join the group.
