I've never posted here, but here goes -

Whatever happened to Asif in Eastenders? I think he was Martin's mate.

He went to university in Edinburgh, he had a very low key exit but that's normally where they send Martin when James Alexandrou has a break.

Maybe when he has holidays and maybe he'll cause havoc in the Folwer house with his art student girlfriend and his Hell's Angels freinds too. Will Pauline approve a trashed Folwer house

What were the chances of someone mentioning this on the same night it was mentioned? Spooky!

Asif was the most heart-throbbiest heart-throb out of all the EE cast at that time - dunno why they phased him out. Goodlooking bloke who could actually act.

Must have been because he showed up the higher paid "actors"

Asif was the token Asian bloke, however he was phased out when the Ferrera's turned up.

Also Who write's letters these days ? surely Asif would have sent Martin a text or an e-mail.

I can't believe Asif got a mention! Either the producers have been reading our messages about forgotten friendships being unrealistic, or they are scraping the barrel to get Martin out of the way for a few days. I wonder how many people get married whilst in their second year at university, not many surely.

Did anyone else think it weird that Asif would send Martin a letter? I'm a fair bit older than both of them but even I would have just phoned....

I still send letters, they are nice to keep to remind you of things that happened at a certain point in your life.

I sent loads of letters in my Uni days - it was cheaper than a phone call!! But email wasn't the norm back then (10+ years ago) so I agree it's a bit unrealistic. However, it would appear that none of the residents of Albert Square own a computer - if they showed everyone spending hours on internet forums it would make pretty boring telly, mind.

but Asif wouldn't necessarily know her email address and maybe he wanted to send a nice invitation in writing. i can't believe this is actually being discussed!

I didn't like Asif, but I was pleased he got a mention as I always find it ridiculous that once someone leaves they are never mentioned again.

Isn't it unlikely to get married whilst still at university though? This didn't ring true for me.

I have always enjoyed writing letters, and I write a lot of them. Letter writing is a dying art. However, although people like to receive them, they are not always so keen to write letters themselves!

I'm surprised so few people on Eastenders have a computer, even if they were not using them they could show them in the background. I did notice yesterday that Ruby has a PC in her bedroom.

The soaps need to get with it, also isn't it about time some of the sets were redecorated? Most of the square have terrible taste when it comes to interior design.

No, loads of people in my second year got married, i think it probably seems like a good idea at the time!

ROFL!

Back to original topic (btw agree with interior design - bad bad bad!), didn't he hang around with Martin and Vicky?

Wasn't he on that awful bus crash story to Scotland (Zoe and Kelly kiss one!)???

I think his exit was a bit "Blink and you'll miss it"
