I believe they want to make sure it's bulletproof, so it works properly unlike the issues a lot of Three customers had when they seemed to rush their VoLTE / 800 out

FYI, it's already working, and very well it seems. EE have some test masts active for Voice over 4G and have randomly selected user accounts and activated it so they can monitor the DCR (dropped call rate) and 4G<>3G handover etc.
Some users on here have reported the WiFi calling to VoLTE works well.

As Synthetic has said, EE don't do nuthin if it don't bleddy work! (South west pronunciation of "bloody" : ).
SMS over WiFi calling?
Works fine on EE (a few teething issues but ok now), not available on Vodafone.... er..... WHY???
VoLTE? Will almost certainly work perfectly including SRVCC (call handover from 4G to 3G), reverse SRVCC (call handover from 3G to 4G, this is really hard to do reliably by the way), call handover to and from WiFi calling and of course not only VoLTE available on all 4G bands (2600, 1800 and 800) but the priorities will be 2600 > 1800 > 800 > 3G2100

Three VoLTE?
No VoLTE on the 1800 band, only 800.
800 prioritised lower than 3G2100 (4G1800 > 3G2100 > 4G800) so most people can't actually use it.
Reason? Not enough capacity and no SRVCC working as far as we know.
No WiFi calling.
How much worse could that possibly be?
