Remember Hazel and Daley. Daley was the one with the girlfriend. He got with Hazel who was single and Hazel got absolutely slated and hated.

This series of Celebrity Big Brother, Steph is the one with the boyfriend and Jeremy is flirting with her and likes her, and yet it's Stephanie who is hated because of it and Jeremy gets off scott free.

Women are the ones vilified, no matter what position they're in: the single one or the one in the relationship. They still get blamed,

besides daley kept lying he didn't have a gf, so there was no reason for people to hate hazel for that alone.

Well for being hated Steph has manged to stay in the House long enough and as for Jezza though he too has stayed I would hardly say he is popular or very much liked even. I don't think anything has been proved to be honest.

No she wasn't. She got booed as soon as her and Daley got together, and do you remember the cheek of Emma Willis on her eviction to lecture her about gettjng with a guy with a girlfriend and Hazel rightly pointed out that Daley was the one showing her pieces of paper saying he liked her.

yes in Hazel's case, but at least she didn't get evicted that week she was very lucky, then the hate for her died down & when she was up again then survived again so she wasn't that hated

Hazel was hated for her obnoxious, horrible personality. She thought she was better than everyone else. Daley having a girlfriend had nothing to do with it.

lol of course it's always only personality, and surely it was just coincidence that everything people were talking about was relating to daley's situation and calling hazel slut and homewrecker was also only because of her personality

I remember different! Loads of people didn't like Daley, including me. I thought he was worse than she was.

This time, I've not seen many positive comments about Jeremy, in fact they are almost universally bad, and I've said the same here. I actually have honestly seen at least as many negative posts about Jeremy as Steph.

Sexism is alive and well everywhere.

Ive been thinking this same thing for weeks. Especially after reading some of the nastier comments on here about steph, but never about jeremy. It took that twitter video to open peoples eyes that jeremy is not quite as innocent as they want him to be.

No it doesn't , it's a very different situation

For a start Hazel did ALL the running, he even made a fist of rejecting her but she just kept on.
She was a very attractive girl, a very sexy woman, she dressed and behaved around him in an overt and sexual way. Never was there a more "come and get it" act done on BB.
I didn't hate her for being sexy or for behaving like a lap dancer around Daley, I loathed her for being a horrible smug nasty bitch.

Away from Stephanie Jeremy is quite reasonable and measured, he has been fair to most people and avoided a lot of the nasty situations. . With steph he is more like a lap dog than an over sexed baboon

I don't have to, I remember it at the time. I couldn't stand Daley! Wasn't he the one who ended up getting kicked out for violent behaviour?! He was one scary, messed up dude!

Ok here's the reason and it's quite simple:

An attractive woman will be directly proposed probably about once a day. Maybe more. A similarly attractive man, once every few weeks.

Hence if a woman reacted to pick ups or grafts in the same way a man approached every few weeks or months did, they'd be pretty indisciplined and thus devaluing their 'allure' rendering them to be seen as 'cheap'.

A man however rarely gets that opportunity because, to their credit, women tend to be less obsessive and aggressive in their everyday approach. Hence why Tiffany who is quite male in her endeavours shocks people so much.

So the expectancy in these situations due to the standard behaviours is that a woman can be more controlled and less direct when it comes to 'grafting'.

Thus when a woman comes onto a man we, knowing that men come onto women regularly, feel that they have more experience in being able to control sexual behaviour. Men tend not to have the same impact on women so it's not so much expected that men would pass on a blatant come on from an attractive woman.

Whether you think it right or wrong, I won't comment on that, it just is. Women tend to be better at controlling or masking that side because many of them have to do it everyday.

I'm sorry if this offends or annoys but it's just a fact that GENERALLY men and women exhibit different behaviours, so there will GENERALLY be different outcomes and different expectancies.

Put it this way: If you have a key that opens every lock then it's considered a master key. If you have a lock that is opened by every key it's considered a shitty lock.

I do think that both parties are responsible. Obviously more so the one who is in a relationship as they are disrespecting that relationship and the person they are meant to care about, but Jeremy also knows Steph has a boyfriend so should never be going there.

I think you make some good points here. I do remember Hazel teasing and grabbing at Daley, even to the point at which people said she should have been kicked out too and probably would have done, were she male.

As for Steph, different people, different situation. Most probably vilify her because she's the one who's cheated, but as I said I've seen just as many bad posts about Jeremy.

I think the general consensus here seems to be, she's an idiot for cheating and has made herself look foolish, but he's not exactly guilt free either and shouldn't have been going there with a non-single girl and nobody would blame Sam for punching him!

and as i said in previous comment hazel was blamed for daley's departure, it was insanity on youtube, people were mad at hazel and wanted daley back coz it was "unfair", he was "innocent" victim of that witch who just "provoked" him

I, for one, never slated Hazel for what happened with her and Daley - I was rather a fan of Hazel as a housemate. I know there were quite a few others on here who also felt the same.

Unfortunately you will always get people who blame the woman no matter what, sadly a lot of those people are women! Not always, not all the time, but you do see it a lot.

With regard to Daley, my view was always that he had a girlfriend, he should have been up front and honest about that, he should have respected her enough, cared about her enough, not to go sniffing around somebody else live on television. That's the same way I feel about Stephanie and her behaviour with regard to her relationship with her boyfriend.

Neither Jeremy nor Hazel is/was completely blameless in some way way, but also neither of them forced the parties who were supposedly in committed relationships to do what they did. Daley and Stephanie are grown-ups, they are responsible for their own actions - just as Hazel and Jeremy are.

Using YouTube comments as the basis of a theory is never a good start.

Some people did yeah, and they were quite vocal but not everyone thought that way. Usually people like this shout the loudest. Having said that, she was hardly guilt free in her behaviour, she repeatedly tried to grope him and even did on one occasion, which I think is what prompted his outburst as I think she started pulling at his trousers to get them down and he said no to it. I could argue that is sexist as men have been kicked off for doing the same.

In truth, I didn't like either of them and at the time, I remember the forum being pretty much the same. As for Steph and Jeremy, I personally have actually been more critical of Jeremy, but like the other example, I don't like either of them very much either and it seems a similar vibe on the rest of the forum.
