Yep and if you belong to a private member's club they can have their bars open longer on Christmas Day. I remember going with my brother once after our family Christmas dinner and spending a few hours in his cricket club 'til about 11pm. He was treasurer so had to muck in and be there for counting up. It was actually lovely with a roaring open fire, tree, everyone in a good mood and no one drank too much. It was also nice for a few of the old gents who had no family. They had Christmas dinner there with company, music, sing-a-longs and a couple of pints. Everyone got one free drink. I'd never gone out on Christmas night before and haven't since but really enjoyed it.

Those doing food usually only allow diners in.

But yes, my village local (where i am xmas Day) opens for 2 hours from midday to 2pm and that's it. I think some do open in the evening as well (certainly do in soaps) but unlike every other day they close for a few hours in between, like the old days before they relaxed the licensing laws in the late 80s.

But re her day, if she is telling the truth and not telling a tall story, it just shows how selfish and indulged she is by her parents. If i were her Mother, the year after she hadn't shown up for Xmas dinner I'd announce that there are no presents this year because of her rude and disrespectful behaviour last year. And then announce I've kept last year's dinner and she'll be eating that with no alcohol, not the freshly cooked meal the rest of the family are having.

Her poor siblings. Obviously made to kowtow to the family 'star'. I bet they have to do all her chores because she is too busy rehearsing, going to dance class etc as well and it's been happening since she was tiny.

Basically it went like this:

1. Get up really early & go downstairs to see how many presents she's got.
2. Count them all to make sure she is the 'favourite' child and has more than her siblings.
3. Yell & scream & go to wake up the whole house.
4. Blackmail parents to start the present opening NOW.
5. After presents, eat loads of junk food, start drinking & when well juiced head straight off to the pub.
6. Get paralytic in pub and pass out there.
7. Never make it back to eat Christmas lunch with her family, or anything else.
8. Thinks this is all hilarious and puts her drinking down to 'Well, I'm a Scouser ain't I'

Unfortunately, Jeremy seems quite impressed...........”

That girl is so self absorbed, she really has an over inflated opinion of her self importance.

Very dislikeable girl.
