I wonder if it's not about 'several companies' but rather Island records AND his separate (but obviously linked) appearance contract with the BBC. A show like Strictly, that will take up an enormous amount of time from now until December, would mean a decent amount of negotiations happening to ensure that he fulfills all contractually required events for album promotions etc.
I'm also sure that he and the record company know that a successful run on this show will likely lead to a decent bump in his profile and therefore his music, and a lot of that negotiation is tied up in each side betting what Will could be worth to the company if he becomes a Strictly finalist, or even winner. The Sun is obviously wrong about him being dumped - and I'm sure they know that - but they're doing the classic 'flush 'em out' tactic of printing drivel, but trying to get confirmation of the thing that they know is true - the Strictly gig! Will doesn't play the media games, so he's going to make valid threats about lies printed about him in the papers.
I am looking forward to him being on the show, as it now seems near certain. I saw him in Cabaret and he moves beautifully. He's got a really graceful dancing style, and I look forward to seeing him do something other than the Fosse stuff. Just please,
please not Joanne - she makes me want to throw things! I'd much prefer Oti - I think she deserves a good one, after suffering with an injured partner last year.
