RIP Colin, yet another artist that made timeless songs leaves us.

Its getting silly now, its like January 2016 is musicians apocalypse or something. Will be glad when this month is over.

He was one of those artists that I'd been wanting to see live, but never got around to. There's a lesson there somewhere

Also if I remember rightly the day of the car crash was the same day David Bowie died?

Yes, 10th January.

2016 isn't turning out to be a good year for music.

A sad loss. Especially as his biggest hit 'Wonderful Life' is being murdered by Katie Melua.
RIP Colin

Surely any loss of human life is just as bad? Especially at still quite a young age.

Everything is coming up in roses is cracker as well.

I'm surprised this is getting little media coverage as it as, on iTunes he barely broke the top 40 with wonderful life.

iTunes wasn't around in the 1980's when he had his major hit with Wonderful Life.

Absolutely, Wonderful Life has never aged, when you consider the fact it is nearly 30 years old! Great song, I must admit and I also like Katie Melua's interpretation too.

I feel really sorry for his family, all the poor man wanted to do was just catch a flight from Cork to Edinburgh for a songwriting trip to work on songs for a planned album I assume. Life can so cruel.

The iTunes Store didn't launch until 2003, two years after the first iPod came onto the market in 2001. (I hope I have got my facts right here )

That is why I didn't understand your comment regarding the low position on the ITunes list.

I would have a guess that the poster meant the current itunes chart?

So he was expecting a spike in purchases of this track following Black's death? I see. This would seem unlikely given that most youngsters have probably never heard of him and his fans would already have his music on vinyl, cassette or CD?

It isn't just youngsters that use iTunes. Eagles Hotel California made the iTunes chart after Glenn Frey died. I can't imagine that was down to youngsters?
