This show is doing really well in the ratings. The 1st episode attracted over 4 million viewers which is very impressive for BBC2. It also got well over 1.5 million on the Saturday repeat.

Good. I am loving it myself.

Jan I still have mixed feelings about, I sympathise up to a point, and she too is being honest - up to a point! I wish she would look outside of herself more
.
Rosemary still seems wound up all the time, that must be wearing for both her and her companions.

I hope next week they concentrate a bit more on Patti and Sylvester etc.

What I like though is that non of them seem to be competing for attention. Some are more naturally 'bossy' than others, some more able to deal with whatever situation they find themselves in. It all seems to be what is natural to them though and not them putting on a 'show' for the cameras.

It's a pity it is such a short series I could happily watch this for a few more weeks.”

Absolutely correct. It started in Australia and seems to have formed a pattern. Maybe though that "me" attitude is what brought the big break.

I like them all with the exception of Miriam who I couldn't sit and eat with. My gag reflex couldn't cope with seeing food being dropped inside her top and being fished back out.

I interviewed Miriam today about appearing on the show:

Nice interview, she's so unafraid to express her views, wonder what happened with Michael Keaton?
thanks for that Jonjons

I really enjoyed the interview - thanks jonjons. She is very articulate and intelligent, lovely speaking voice. To anyone hesitating about listening to it there is not a hint of a fart or bodily functions. A very different side to her.

Great interview. Thank you.

I could listen to her for hours and never get bored.

After the interview she let out all that wind. Lets just say I sat there a bit awkwardly afterwards.

Im a bit disapointed we are still focusing on lonely Jan, busy Rosemary and recovering Wayne. What about Roy and Sylvester?

It would be too hot for me to live in India. I'd also be concerned about the food safety.

It's more expensive to live in England, that's true, but there is a reason for that. The quality of life is much better than in India even though India is a great place to visit and some things are cheaper and are equal quality like in the UK. I would say private hospitals are just as good in India and medical treatment is much cheaper. It's due to cheaper labour.

Miriam, who do you think you're kidding with your penny pinching and 'I want to be comfortable in old age'?! You're a millionaire! I'm aware of the fee you got for the Harry Potter film for one thing. And you own houses in London, Tuscany and Australia to boot!

Thats true. I guess its bit like foreign investors buying up property in London etc... Brings in money and they get to enjoy a good life but pushes people out (except here you have a relatively better basic level of living).

They had to make the programme. I'm sure none of them will actually retire in India. They all said things for the purposes of making the programme more plausible.

I did think that. Interesting that only Indians can only own property in India. Are you paying attention Boris!

Still my favourite show on the box..
