Not owls they eat hamsters
its like that puzzle where you have to get a fox, a hen, a worm and a bag of food across a river
she has a boyfriend a owl and hamster to get somewhere but, you can only take one at a time and you can't leave the hamster and the owl together because the owl will eat the hamster etc

The solution is, first the boyfriend and the hamster goes across, then the owl fly's across of its own accord. Then the boyfriend sinks the ship leaving her on the island....
