Anya and Katya for 2016?
Anya is in play for the 2016 series, there is a good chance that she might come back to Strictly. Also in the mix is Katya. There's a new blonde being considered as well, do not know her name....yet.
Joanne is 100% in. this is a volatile list as of right now. This year, contrary to past series, several pros have already been confirmed.

Katya Virshillis?
Why didn't Anya return last year? She did well with Patrick. I never doubted Joanne that would be back. I've heard whispers that Tristen is going, is this true? |

Erm Katya, are you sure about that one? Come August she'll have a youngish baby to deal with. Not that mothers of babies can't work but Strictly is a bit of an undertaking, more so if you go a long way in the comp. Not convinced by that one.
I think the producers will go for fresh faces, hopefully Neil and Kat Jones will make the cut. Maybe you've got your Katyas in a mix? |

Oh, does the OP mean another Katya then?
I just assumed Katya Virshillis and a Anya Garnis?

The idea of an over tired Katya is quite an interesting prospect though, she'd take carp from no one, I can just see the withering looks now!

She'd probably climb over the desk, hit Craig/Len, and set fire to the dance floor on her way to the Clauditorium. We can but dream.

If they need to bring pros back, I'd much prefer Iveta. I hope they go for fresh faces instead.

Other than Joanne, do we know who has confirmed? I would be delighted and not at all surprised if Anya cane back. Iveta left of her own accord and is now based in New York so is highly unlikely to return (and I hope she doesn't), and I suspect if we have a Katya it'll be Mrs Jones not Ms Virshilas. |

[quote=Mystical123;81290366]No one is confirmed, the pros don't get given contracts until the spring.
Contrary to what's been done before several pros have already been contacted for the upcoming series. Contracts is a different matter, but most have been confirmed, which will basically keep most current pros and a new male pro as well.

Which would mean that one of the current male pros is not returning?

I've got a feeling that the two girl pros who are performing on tour Charlie and jasmine will join the show as new pros. They seems good

Charlie won sytycd uk and isn't a ballroom dancer I wouldn't like SCD going down the dwts road of hiring pros with little to no experience in ballroom

Karen, Janette, Artem, Pasha, Anya and Iveta (and Aliona to an extent) all did SYTYCD USA which was a hit show that outside of Strictly has also served as an established feeder for both Burn The Floor and Dancing With The Stars internationally. SYTYCD UK was a public flop that hasn't got any of its contestant associated work, other than Matt Flint, who was already working semi-regularly for the BBC as a choreographer anyway.

She could still be because Janette was on that show too
I was saying I hope if tptb bring in actual ballroom dancers I know people could argue that Karen and Janette aren't either but compare that o dwts hiring a contemporary dancer who although is a incredible dancer in her style and can adapt to any style when she is dancing it she is not a good teacher or choreographer in a style she is untrained to do and Charlie would be the same - nowhere on her cv says ballroom and I hope that one of the main criteria on hiring new pros on SCD is that they are able to teach and choreograph. |

Janette is at least a Salsa specialist, and that is on the Strictly list. And she had learnt ballroom prior to SYTYCD, she's just not a specialist
And Karen also has some background in it as far as I know (i.e. she learnt it when she was younger) What is Charlie's speciality? |

Contemporary. She's not specialised in any of the latin or ballroom at all and her knowledge is not there.
