I having problems charging my Nexus 7 (2013) tablet as l think either the USB charging unit or micro USB cable is faulty. Please could someone tell me where is the best place to go to regarding suitable replacements. Maplins?

The specifications are 100v - 240v. DC 5.2v 1.35A.

Cheers in advance.

HI PK, you know you can unplug the lead from the charger end and plug that into a usb port on a PC etc.If it charges continually while moving the lead about a little, it's not a faulty lead?
Also my phone has the same micro usb port, the charger from which will charge a N7 as long as the Nexus socket or it's internal connections are OK.

I have done this with my pure chronos radio and still not charging so it probably is the lead but again if l plug a different USB cable into the charger, there is no charge as well!

Plenty of chargers on Amazon. Buy a 2A charger (it will not overcharge). Just avoid cheapest chinese imports.

Maplin will be fine, with a good guarantee. Their staff will probably test your tablet charges ok before yoh buy if you ask them eg leave it with them for a couple of hours.

In that case, all things being equal, it's definitely the N7 that has the problem.

They are known to have problems, mine just stops responding to any inputs on the screen very often. I reckon it's probably a dodgy internal connection, as it most likely is with yours.I certainly wouldn't waste money buying a brand new power pack if it's not showing signs of charging with another charger -no matter how slow the charge might be.

I'm sure it isn't the Nexus 7 as l switched the changer with one from one for my mobile phone. The tablet charges 100% while the charge to the mobile is unresponsive!

I thought you said you'd already tried your audio chronos charger on the N7?

My monies on the battery. I had to fit a new battery to same model. If you Google it it's pretty easy to change.

If you read the last responce you quoted, you'd know it's the charger.

Seems there's some confusion as to whether the same lead is used.

The problem was the mirco USB cable so l went and brought a replacement in Maplins. The cable connector is a snug fit and charging is 100% ok.

Cheers.
