Now we all said, if we knew we had to pay, we wouldn't have gone in there but when a 9 year old girl goes in and really wants a picture, you can't turn them down. Most girls want a pony and this is cheaper. Imagine if we told Gemma to go fu@k herself in front of the kid which i think we could have rightly done.
A lot of people on twitter have said we were mugs for paying for a mug that cost £15 to get a picture.

I understand that Alex, having a child myself. You either have one very upset child or you pay. As you don't really have time to talk and consider you would go with the option of paying as the child probably not get another chance.

Harry Styles didn't make my son buy merchandise for a picture, but he understands who puts him where he is.

If I bump into you sometime, doesvthat mean I am allowed to ask for a selfie? 😜

I would never usually fork out for an autograph or to have a photo taken but if you are in the position where the child is present, you really don't have much of a choice.

That attitude pretty much sums Gemma up to me.

I think the vast majority of celebrities wouldn't charge to have a photo taken, especially when it was a child.

As you say, most have the sense to know they are have no career without their fans.

ETA: plus of course, it costing them nothing to spend a few seconds having a photo taken and just being a nice, kind thing to do.

I totally agree.

I was going to post that I didn't see Alex Sibley on BB, because I didn't start watching until BB3 or 4, but how much I had enjoyed all his comments on CBots. (Not just the Gemma comments, but his take on the 'NuBB' that so many of us dislike compared to the older BBs.)

And now I would like to add that I'd be really teed off with being asked to pay for ''merchandise'' for a photo with a youngster. How low can you get?

It wouldn't be so bad if it was for charity or something, but for herself? Words fail me.

Anyone in that situation with a child would do the same thing and cough up the money, however disgusting they thought it was of the celebrity. Thought you were very entertaining of BBOTS, and the way you handled the issue of Gemma was very funny and much better than openly slagging her off.

Of course, Alex.

Having a daughter myself, naturally I would have paid, though I would have been fuming inside! I'm sure when Gemma gets out she will say things like 'I can't have people coming in my shop all day wasting my time' But she can say what she likes, it's plain to see the type of person she is.

Yup totally get it. My kids are in their twenties now but I well remember those days and, although I didn't spoil my kids, it would have been well worth the £15 not to have an upset child on your hands all day, their little dreams shattered. What a b!tch. The cheapest thing was a £15 cup with 'Essex' on? Sounds like she's been watching that Harry Enfield sketch 'Saw You Coming' and I mean that as no insult against your family who had their hands tied by a child's happiness but I mean it as a HUGE insult against her who seems to know the price of everything but the value of nothing! She deserves to disappear from the public eye without a trace if she can't appreciate the people who have put her where she is - even 9 year old girls.

If she didn't insist on them buying something before a photo was taken and pissing the adults off maybe she'd have made more money out of them in the future, they may have bought the little girl princess Gemma dolls, wigs and Gemma sparkly things, that ain't going to happen now....... The girl has got off lightly.
