Breaking News: Gary and Stein are on strike!
Shelley
26-04-2005
Gary and Stein have "walked", according to Extra Portions. Kellie is working alone in the Blue kitchen. JC was rude to Gary and Stein and they are now refusing to work for/with him.

Gary and Stein need to wake up and smell the coffee.

So .....

JC throws 2 chefs out and now 2 more walk .....

..... surely not due to his "laissez-faire" management style .....

I hope your not trying to imply M. Novelli is rigging the contest?

Well it looks like Kellie has got the chance to run a kitchen earlier than she thought possible - she's still there alone (oh, and Laura, the maitre'd just said she wants Kellie to win)

(Apart from all the other non-speaking helpers )

According to MDS on Extra Portions, the bust up with Stein/Gary/JC is not just a normal one, but a mega one

I guess we're going to have to watch tomorrow to see the edited details

Is this true? Why would they blow any chance they may have had like that?

Good for Kellie.

Gary's whinging about being too tired to clear up last night annoyed me. Stein cannot cope if he has to improvise or do anything he hasn't done before.

Kellie is the winner in my eyes, she just puts her head down and gets on with it. I might even make a phone call on her behalf.

Don't. This might lead you to ringing lots of shows with numbers on the screen. This kind of thinking can get you a large phone bill

Really - what is the point of having "Hell's Kitchen Live" if they keep the sound dipped for most of it? Kellie is clearly informing the Red team of the night's events, and yet the sound is only turned up when Kellie starts squirting cleaning fluid everywhere.

Nice one Kellie! It looks like she has already been on a recruitment drive and now employed the 'men in black' to help her clean up

Well, with no head chef, no sous chef, no other chefs, who'd blame her?

Oh I thought she was trying to get them to join her kitchen and abandon Rhodes

Who knows, other than the lip readers amongst us?

One thing I do know: this "walkout/strike" must be serious. They've just put a legal apology on screen, and I think the others have been stopped from going into one of the rooms. I saw Simon trying to eavesdrop, presumably on Stein, Gary, JC and Producers?

True, it's so bloody tedious. What is the point of having a live session if it's all blanked out? We might as well have a rerun of Footballers' Wives! If it's going to be live then turn the sound up or else, just don't bother. The weather report would be more useful.

Yes - I've taped 2 episodes of the brilliant No Angels and was planning to watch it tomorrow. May watch it now instead,

Good idea. Listening to half an hour of people clattering their cutlery was distinctly boring. I shall have to have a look at the schedules to see what's on. Failing that, I may have an ancient copy of "Folk Tales from Obscure Middle European Countries in their Original Languages" that may prove more interesting!

For something this bad to happen you'd think that JC has been incredibly abusive to them both, or that they both think that Kellie is getting preferential treatment by JC and/or the Producers.

Last night JC was saying to his team he was surpised they hadn't walked out the back door - so what happens tonight? Coincidence?

Are you suggesting a ratings ploy, dawson?

Me? I wouldn't be that cynical

The day before when Gary Rhodes closed up shop early leaving many of his customers hungry, Gary's sous chef said it was nothing serious as Gordon Ramsay had done it many times.

I zonked out even before the main show last night - sounds like I missed another eventful evening.

I wonder what happened in the end last night. The ITV website is 24 hours out of date!
