06-02-2016
In Training: After topping the leaderboard with a whopping 35 points last week, Sophie and Neil want to maintain the standard. “We’re doing the Jive this week, and it’s one of my favourite dances and I’m so happy! It’s a very quick routine so it’s quite tricky” says Sophie. “The Jive has lots of flicks and kicks, so if Sophie can nail it and pull in the performance, it could be awesome. Watch this space!” says Neil.

Sophie & Neil- Jive to “Candyman” (Christina Aguilera)

Craig: It was very good, actually, and you did maintain your standard! It was a very, very fast routine and sadly you did lose your bearings towards the beginning, but apart from that it was near faultless, well done!

Scores:

Craig: 8
Karen: 9
Len: 9
Ian: 9

Total: 35

“We did keep the standard!” says Neil.

Up next is vocal coach David Grant and his partner Elena Samodanova!

06-02-2016
In Training: After finishing bottom of the leaderboard last week, David is determined to change his ways. “I really hope we do well this week. I’m lucky enough to dance the first Viennese Waltz of the series! It’s to “What’s New Pussycat” by the wonderful Sir Tom Jones. With such a tune, there’s huge pressure! Wish me luck!” David says.

David & Elena- Viennese Waltz to “What’s New Pussycat?” (Sir Tom Jones)

Ian:
Not great, David, I’m afraid. It was very awkward, it just didn’t seem right. You seemed to get really dizzy after the pivots, and you were very hunched. I know I’m sounding like Craig right now, so I’ll end by saying it was absolutely miles better than last week’s train wreck, so you can be happy about that.

Scores:

Craig: 3
Karen: 5
Len: 5
Ian: 6

Total: 19

“At least we improved!” Elena says optimistically.

Up next is radio and TV presenter Dermot O’Leary and his partner Joanne Clifton!
NicPlays
06-02-2016
In Training: This week Dermot will be dancing the first American Smooth of the series. “It’s quite a bit of pressure, and I’m as nervous as hell” David tells us, “Fingers crossed everything goes well on the night.”

Dermot & Joanne- American Smooth to “Yellow” (Coldplay)

Len: In all honesty, Dermot, it was very boring, and not as good as last week. You seemed to struggle with the lifts, so I would suggest you tone it down just a little bit next time. I’m putting this all down to nerves, so get the nerves out, and you should do better next week.

Scores:

Craig: 6
Karen: 7
Len: 6
Ian: 6

Total: 25

“That’s still a great score!” Joanne says, trying to comfort a disappointed Dermot.

Up next is “Hi 5” member Kellie Crawford and her partner Keo Motsepe!
