I have a phone from Carphone Warehouse, the service provider is O2. My contract ended a couple of months ago but I hadn't got round to upgrading but still paying the same monthly amount for the same service.

I've now got a phone from another service provider but O2 say I have to give 30 days notice. Is this correct given I'm outside the original contract?

Secondly I've asked for a PAC so I can transfer my number to the new phone. O2 say if I don't use it within 30 days it will expire and I'll have to ask for another PAC. So now I'm wondering, does that means if I use it within the next week will they still charge me for the remainder of the 30 days?

You always give 30 days notice regardless. A PAC request is a request to move your number. It's valid for 30 days however when you use it you're charged for 30 days notice, minus the days from when the PAC was issued.

That's what I thought. Thanks.
