I read that as Gemma saying it, not her mum:

Of course she does - Why am I still watching this ridiculous charade? because there is a tiny little bit of me that still hopes she will get boo-ed so loudly it will blow her off the podium when she comes out - but the other 95% says get a grip woman, its a total whitewash!

Exactly! I think that's probably because its a crock of pooh and only meant for us to say 'OMG poor Gemma her mum is ill, well we must rush to the phones next week and make her our winner, that will cheer her up' and the mad thing is that plenty of people will do just that - aaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhh - what with this and Rylan's stair thrusty dancing I am losing to will to get up and go to work!!! lol
