I've never heard of this Iain Dale bloke, but I don't trust him for two main reasons.

1) Ian only has one 'i' in it.
2) Kevin O'Sullivan has never before been referred to as someones 'fave TV journalist'.

I'll be referring to him as Untrustworthy Ian from now on.

Thanks.

I feel fine thanks -this guy has said some pretty harsh stuff about other people and in truth he will be snapped up again soon by another media outlet. I'd be surprised if he didn't and in all truth he's a long way from having to sing for his supper.
Other people can feel free to Polish their halo on a forum by all means.

That paper should have axed the dreadful Carole Malone, instead.

Not sure what you think is wrong in reporting the news? Does reporting the news an actor has been axed from a soap amount to kicking them when their down?

Anyway forums do seem to generate moral indignation as sport

Are you a secret LBC listener?

I don't read the columns other then what's posted on here, guess he won't be unemployed for long, if Katie Hopkins can get fricking column then it cannot be that hard.

I didn't realise she still worked for them! I thought her career went down the toilet after the News of the world closed?!

No I was actually wondering if as an openly gay man Iain Dale had tweeted an opinion on the subject of straight couples being allowed to have civil partnerships or whether now we have gay marriage that civil partnerships should be fazed out as it's been on the news today following a courtcase -So I nosed at Iains account and came across that news in that tweet.

I definitely don't listen too LBC in secret or otherwise!

Fab thread by the way Hilds! I can never get round to feeling sorry for gutter journalists but this pillock will probably now be on our screen 24/7 complaining about how journalists no longer have journalistic license blah-deh-blah. This guy turns up on more magazine slots on what the paper say etc, etc than Boris Johnson goes on HIGNFY to make an arse of himself

Thanks Harlowe -Im not sure myself but I'm chilled about it. 👍

I can only think possibly it's the winking smilies which actually was just a nod to how many people on here loathed his criticisms of EastEnders over the years.

Thanks Sweetie! 😘

I think he's a bit of a marmite character but he won't be out of work for long if at all. If I thought otherwise I'd have hesitated about starting a thread.

Please God may Boris Johnson not become the future PM of our country!

I'm no tory but give me solid reliable grounded Theresa May anyday! (or Even better Nicola Sturgeon! )

He lost a job that supplements his income, there are others out there a lot less fortunate than him. He is still working.

Maybe if he concentrated on writing proper articles they wouldn't have felt the need to sack him. After reading a few of his articles he just seems to use his column to insult others rather than making decent critical observations.

And no I'm not taking any joy in him losing his job, I just don't have any sympathy either.

Can I clarify that I do take pleasure in him losing his job. Don't want there to be any ambiguity about my position on this.

Thanks.

Brilliant Post. 👍

I may be showing my petty snob here but I prefer the tv critics for The Guardian and Independent and Scottish broadsheets like The Herald.

Awe Nicolas lovely I've met her briefly

I think if it's gonna be an EastEnders character who's Prime minister I'd want it to be one of the show's glorious soap Queens and I can think of no one better than Sharon! 😘

You absolute nasty piece of work. Disgusting post. Unless he's personally hurt you, wind your neck in, love.
But... but... he dislikes EastEnders and because he writes about what a joke the show is, he's constantly hitting a nerve with the fans who would rather just pretend DTC is some sort of God instead.

Differing opinions on EastEnders aren't allowed, we must all love and respect the show no matter how bad it gets, and because he doesn't pander to those who can't take criticism of their precious show, he must lose his income.

Nice words but none of it is true. The EastEnders fans on here are as much critical of he show as non viewers when it's diabolical. No one here has said you must love EastEnders. Trying to insult the fans of EE by making out that they are dictorial worshippers of the show and it's producers it's just lame and old hat. There's no evidence to back up those claims.
