I need some help
My equipment
New Samsung UE40H6400
Huma HDR Fox T2 PVR (Freeview, I’ve had it now for at least six years)
My Samsung is connected to the internet and the Humax power is on.
I’m trying to connect the Samsung IR extender to the Humax so I can control the Humax with the Samsung remote control. I want to be able to view and make recordings on a regular basis and continue to record series that I’ve already set up and of course play back. I also want to hide the Humax in a cupboard below the television.
After connecting the IR cable to the TV’s IR out slot and placing the other end within two inches of the Humax and connecting a HDMI cable to the HDMI in 1 (STB) and the other end to my Humax . I go Source and select Universal remote setup.
The TV confirms that the IR extender cable is connected and from the three choices that I’m offered; set-top box; blu-ray player and Home Theatre System. I select set-top box. I’m now taken through the setup
The first step is to select Humax as my Set-top box provider and confirming that the the TV input source is HDMI1. This is where my problems start
When I work my way through to the Set-top box Control Test all I see in the small screen is the message: ‘the receiver is not receiving a signal or the signal is to weak.’ If I move the channel up or down it clearly shows me where I’m at e.g BBC 1, ITV, Drama and so on. I can even see the Humax clock moving up and down the small screen, but I keep getting the same message: ‘signal to weak.’
I have tried moving it along the front of the Humax just in case I was missing the where the Humax sensor was but hat didn't help
Any suggestions as what to do next
