283 Days from now on Wednesday 9th November 2016 we should know if Donald J Trump will be the 44th President of the USA?

This is not a thread about whether you would like to see this happen or not it is about whether it will happen.

This is so we will have a record of what people thought.

I am adding a poll which will close in three days

No, most Americans I've seen think he is a bigot and a joke.

I've voted no. My opinion that he will not become President is based on the fervent hope that there are more sensible American voters than utter idiots.

Sensible American voters. This is something I wish I believed, but in all honesty can only say it is something I hope for.

Lest we forget, America re-elected Dubya.

Yes. Trump will win if he makes it to Election Day as the Republican candidate.

Despite the fact this means he will be President Fart in parts of the UK I believe that Americans are sufficiently stupid to vote for this numpty

Apt though if he won.

I have voted YES because I think that Americans love his sort of talk.

Remember Ronald Reagan.

He's a bit like our own Jeremy. HE has a good chunk of supporters who think he will, but there are far more who don't. He may become the republican choice but that will mean a democratic will be in the white house.

Isn't Obama the 44th president?

But no. I don't think so. Or at least I bloody hope not!

I think the key to the result will be demographics. Look at what the Wall Street Journal said last year - "A Daunting Demographic Challenge for the GOP in 2016":-

http://www.wsj.com/articles/whit-ayr...016-1425513162

They stated:-

"So how can Republicans possibly compete? By nominating a candidate who can speak to minorities, especially Hispanics, and offer a vivid and compelling vision of expanded economic opportunity at home and a stronger America abroad."

Erm...

If I was an American and Trump somehow got elected I would flee the country and claim political asylum. What's Canada like? Are the inhabitants less brainwashed by the media?

I doubt he'll get elected and, even if he does, 99% of the things he's said he wants to do wouldn't get passed. Just look at Obama and what he promised. How much of that got done?

Highly unlikely but far more likely than Corbyn's chances of becoming Prime Minister.

If Bernie Sanders gets the democratic nomination then he has a very strong chance. If Clinton gets the nomination he has no chance as moderate republicans and independents along with the democratic base will vote for her.

again it depends who is is running against/

sanders as much as i like him i doubt those in the usa do, hes a bit to left for most even though hes likely centre ground here.

if hilarys email scandal gets traction she has no chance, also what has she actually done?

if trump gets selected he has a good chance of winning, off topic sorry but who would you vote for out of the republicans, cruz is a decent pick imo
