Unless there is a major terrorist attack in the next few months then there is no way he can get enough white Americans to vote for him to overcome the lack of minority votes. So I would say there is no chance.

Actually, Sanders does better than Clinton in head to head polls with GOP candidates.

Perhaps potential new voters should watch this before voting...

The Electoral College is a lousy solution to electing a president, it concentrates the power in a few large states and rewards people who win the marginal states.

Won't we have the Iowa result in before the poll closes?

Come to the UK. You would qualify as a refugee, fleeing for your own safety!

I do think he'll be the next US president and I think he'll win convincingly. I don't agree with much of his politics but I can see the appeal of a candidate that's perceived as very pro-US as Trump is. I'm clearly in the minority in this poll but I have a feeling that we are still underestimating his appeal.

But clearly does not understand it - Trump is a person who said he would like to thump a protester/heckler and yet neglects to remember that the US Constution contains the following;

Quote:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

Clearly he is happy with the person leading the government to react violently to protest then.

So we come to Super Tuesday. What will happen?

Will Trump be the big winner?

He'll either be a busted flush or he'll hold the trump card and win.

Interesting comments I heard this am on radio from a senior republican. He said that trump is a past master at negotiation and saying the sort of things people want to hear in order to gain their support. At the moment he's playing to the republican right. Once he's running for office he'll modify his stance to attract wider support. Interesting. I'm beginning to believe he could become the next president.

My money would still be on a Clinton win.

But, if Trump does break through, then this will be nothing short of a political miracle - and I use the word 'miracle' in the sense of 'upset' - simply because there's no arm of the US establishment that supports him.

Yes, he could win. A Trum presidency, while making the US a laughing stock, would not be as bad as a Cruz presidency. Trump, would be reigned in by those able to think, whereas Cruz would listen only to God (or whatever he believes to be informing his strange and unpleasant ideas).

I think he'll be the republican candidate. I thought he had no chance of that before. Do I think he'll be president? No.
Surely Democrats won't vote for him will they?

No. And judging by the primaries so far, neither will a majority of Republicans.
