Glad I exchanged Mafia 3 for this. Enjoying it so far, find the climbing and tombs more challenging than Uncharted 4. But it will never top the Uncharted series for me due to the dialogue and characters. Lara is rather bland, and the supporting characters I don't care for.

If you combined the gameplay from this game with the graphics and story from Uncharted 4 then you'd have the perfect game.

I played it on XB1 last year but a friend has it on PS4 now. I'm hoping to borrow his copy when he's done as I'd like another playthrough and I've never played any of the DLC.

I accidently completed a bit of DLC without knowing it. Must admit, really liking it. I think I am playing it on the equivalent to Hard

How the f*** do you kill deer?

Just spent 20 minutes chasing one for a side mission, and missing it with every arrow I shot.

Update: just shot it with a rifle 😂

Yup, though there is some outfit that makes you less likely to freak out the deer.

Chasing them is where your going wrong, hold up in an elevated position where deer are known to roam, then quietly despatch them with your bow. There is an achievement for killing deer with a shot to the heart, stalking them is probably the only way to get it.

I'd agree with that, except the aiming in this was terrible until they patched it. It's not the best now, and that camera! Awful. Knowing there is an option on PC to turn off the auto centering camera really annoys me. Why couldn't they have offered that on PS4? I actually hate it and it gives me motion sickness.

Controlling Nate and shooting felt much better in UC4 (they finally learnt how to do it right) there just wasn't enough of it. The climbing mechanics and freedom offered here are where it shines. I really like the tombs and just exploring the world.

I said this exact same thing in the Uncharted 4 thread and got crucified for it.

As I've got nothing better to do and curious because I couldn't remember you getting crucified on the Uncharted thread I took a look back.

I actually agreed with you that Tomb Raider had the better gameplay and Jenny1986 was the only one to disagree with you.

Not sure why Gamespot's score is lol worthy, you would have to take that up with many more review outlets. It's not like it was the outlier. But I understand your issues with it, I don't agree but I can see where you are coming from. I have seen plenty of people say the island section is too long, but it was actually my favourite part. I honestly didn't want it to end. Partly because
Spoiler
finally turned up. It's interesting that you say it's too long in one type of area, and then bring up TR, because that whole game was one area, wasn't it an issue then?

When you say mechanics from Uncharted and gameplay from TR, what parts are you thinking of in particular? The only major difference I can think of is bow and arrow and levelling system. Did you have a gameplay issue with the other Uncharted's?

Not trying to pick apart your post or anything, I don't have a problem with your opinion, I just want to understand some of your points better.

Hardly crucifying you. Page 17 of the the Uncharted thread if you want to re-read it as I think you took it the wrong way.

Yes, I remember - I was there. Let's not bring it up again before we have a war on our hands lol

Thanks I appreciate that, I thought we had a genuine misunderstanding in the UC4 thread. So to see it called 'crucifying' in a different thread is pretty unfair. I would never do that.

Just making a point you didn't get crucified and not sure why you thought you did. It was a perfectly fine discussion.

Was a bit unfair, why I had a look back. Think it was more of a misunderstanding than anything.

Not really an opinion, crucified is a harsh word to use when it was a civil conversation. But I'll it there as I've derailed this thread enough.

The lack of cover system in this game is annoying.

Is there not? I recall there being in the first game, no?
Purchased this game today in order to get rid of a certain phantom pain.
I've waited 3 years for this, so excited!

Anyone who finished not feel It copied lot of uncharted ? I just could not get rid feeling I was playing rehashed uncharted for some reason. Parts of story, certain enemy types (specifically near the end)

The other problem had was the side missions, It felt like such chore to actually finish the sides missions, finding who gave you the mission in first place I mean.

For me It was not as great as first, the side mission ruined the pace of the game, and had no real purpose,It should had more varied amount of locations, the story is highly predictable.

There is a kind of cover system, Lara automatically crouches behind cover during combat, but it's not as reliable as a snap to cover system. Still serviceable though.

I rather liked the side missions and the fact it became open world after completion. I like doing the side missions, which is what I am in the middle of doing just now.

I don't like those "exotic animals" or the wolves. In fact, trying to kill any animal was difficult.

Comparing to Uncharted in the broader sense of semi-open world action adventure I could do, but no, I didnt feel like I was playing uncharted whilst playing this.

2 very different characters, and if we're comparing this to Uncharted 4, then we also have a fresher feeling game as I thought U4's pace was dragged right down with to much climbing with no real purpose.
