The Great Interior Design Challenge
A new series....
I already miss the 'moment of transformation' music! Not impressed with the transformations this evening though. |

Missed the first 15 minutes as we had no idea it was back, not massively impressed with any of the them, but lovely builder as back, so that was nice

Just finished watching. Didn't love it. My least favourite contestant was eliminated though so that's something.
Don't like the presenter. Some of the camera angles when talking to the judges are weird. Anyway, a lot to take in from one episode, will give episode two a try. Does anyone remember a programme one or two years ago with a blonde woman presenting where two people redesigned rooms in one house? What was that called? (One turned the hallway into living walls?!!) |

I'm also fond of the lovely builder, for reasons I can fully explain

Stick with it though if you can because you do occasionally get a gem in amongst the mountain of MDF and chalk paint (which can seem criminal in - what did they say, a space that's £5,000 a square metre!) If nothing else it's brimming with ideas - not all of them bonkers! I do like when one good designer shines out and we can follow them and see what they come up with next. I hope they calm down the grey though this series, they had enough to cover, if not sink a battle ship! |

The comments of the judges are just nonsense sometimes. It's as if they are just saying things to balance out the critique. They're also quite two-faced because they say one thing to camera, then another to the designers.
The female judge's voice (and weird pronunciations) grate a little. |

I painted my kitchen that bright yellow once and came down during the night to get a drink - didn't even have to turn on the light!
Changed it the next day, migrane central!

It's the home-owners who are a pain. They know what kind of programme it is and they're putting a stick in the wheel with all their complaints. They shouldn't have volunteered their house if they're looking for something bland and ordinary. It's not like they can't redecorate if they don't like the end product.

I wonder if they are told to be a bit like that for the show?

Surely they are giving the designers a brief and it's up to them to work with that and add their skill and creativity.
