Seriously, just read it back. Your whole approach to this conversation was to start with a big quantum leap and make some unfounded assumptions. You then seemed to move the goalposts, based on stuff I didn't say but you assumed. There's no easy way to respond to any of that, especially when it's massively off-topic for this thread.

The Mail is not like the Guardian in the same way that it is not like the Telegraph. I really don't think this needs much explanation...

"so-called 'news' phone-ins rely on shocking, worrying and angering their audience (just like the Daily Mail does), which usually results in uninformed prejudiced tabloid bollox. Certainly not news."

That is a direct quote from you. So you seem to think that there is something about the Mail, that "results in uninformed prejudiced tabloid bollox" How is that different to what the Mirror or the Guardian, or JOB or whoever do? Sneering because people read a certain newspaper, or prefer a different presenter is your own prejudice.

I agree this is all off-topic, but that is because you chose to take a condescending ("I have to presume you're joking") attitude to a paper and subsequently a presenter on the radio. If you choose to do that, you should expect to be questioned.

For the record, I agree that another news-talk radio station is pointless.

I know. I used to post a lot in the LBC thread until it was hijacked by the EU debate. The thread seems to be there for posting political crap, that would be ignored in the politics thread.

I agree the Galloway show on Friday night's is a very good listen I download the podcast every single week and never miss it, like you say even if you don't agree with what he says it's still great listening.
I do think he over-eggs the mannerisms a bit these days though.

I remember reading somewhere recently that she'll be back in November.

Is there a GG podcast? I can't find one. Usually just do the listen again feature but would love a podcast.

Where is this Galloway podcast? It would be helpful to have a link to it here, if it exists. I've not found it. Is his show actually podcasted properly?

I'm sorry Mr Radio and everybody if I got your hopes up it wasn't intentional, there's no official podcasts I meant I download the segments from the 'listen again' feature onto my PC hard drive and then load them onto my MP3 player, alas they have the dreaded commercials and news bulletins.

You guys could always ask the bloke who does the automated Iain Lee and Jon Holmes feeds.

They really are very good, though there is usually a problem when the clocks go forward/back so hopefully he's still around to fix.

Before I'd worked out how to retune my DAB radio and get TalkRadio, I used to read tweets from Danny Kelly saying he was doing shows on the station. But since I've been able to listen - nothing! Would be interested to hear him on the station, and hope he gets some gigs soon.

Jon and Cornelius have been saying

"87222, start your message with the word "talk", @talkRADIO on Twitter, start your message
with any word you like"

for several months now. But starting yesterday they were told to mention the text fee and so they have amended it as follows:

"87222, start your message with the word "talk", messages cost 25p plus your standard network rate, @talkRADIO on Twitter, start your message with any word you like and it's not a rip-off"

danny kelly did a few cover presenting shows, for example on a few fridays before GG started and he did a one-off EU referendum special the Saturday after the vote. Hasn't been on there for ages though fortunately.

Really enjoyed James Max this morning and I've never heard so many callers ringing into one show, at one point there was three callers one after each other.

Looking forward to Whale at 10am even though I do also like JHB.

I find myself moving more and more away from LBC & tend to agree the mix between serious and non-serious discussions on Talk Radio work really well.

Didn't realise James Whale was covering mornings!

Nice surprise.

James Whale said it costs £250,000 to get your teeth replaced in a day. I think he was to referring to the one which advertises on LBC!

How is James Max getting so many callers, when (apart from Iain Lee), virtually every other presenter is talking to themselves? Has he got a massive, loyal following, or is he teeing them up via social media?

However he's doing it, wherever he appears in the schedule he's showing up the incumbent presenters.

Listened to the first hour and a bit on the train home, felt like it needed callers rather than guests and was a bit formulaic. Much prefer his Saturday show on BBC Kent

Good to hear James Whale back on talkRADIO he just always sounds so good, it's a real bonus for the station having him I truly hope they manage to land him permanently.

And on Periscope as well.

Yes, that was some kind of record. The Breakfast show struggles for 3 callers in a week, let alone three in 20 minutes! The Max seems to try a bit harder to get calls, where as some of the other presenters seem to have given up by now?

I'd like to hear him have permanent show, but it sounds like he has a proper job now, so unlikely he will do anything other than cover.

I like the mix of serious and non-serious conversation, although the breakfast show could do with a little tidying up: yesterday they rattled through 3 topics, with guests, in the 8am hour, and then seemed to repeat the same topics with different guests in the 9am hour. It all felt a bit samey.
