I'm following this all with interest but I'm baffled that there seems to be such little promotion or publicity. Took me ages to find the official web page as it doesn't appear on Google when searched for.

Bill Buckley

BBC Devon they live in Plymouth
Bill Buckley, has announced he is leaving BBC Radio Devon. He’s still staying within BBC Local Radio, moving to BBC Radio Berkshire, where he will be closer to his husband and family. Here is what Bill had to say on air today: “I'm leaving BBC Radio Devon for one reason only; I want to be nearer my husband, friends and family. I have loved my time in Devon and all the radio programmes I've presented, especially the lunchtime phone-in which is endlessly challenging and rewarding. I've also particularly enjoyed making television films for Inside Out South West on subjects from domestic violence to wild camping. The itinerant life of a broadcaster has meant that, during eight years together, my husband and I have never been able to live together fulltime. He recently started a new career in London. Working in Berkshire, which is, of course, prime commuter territory for the capital, means we can finally be a seven-days-a-week couple. I believe it's called getting the work/life balance right. It will be a true wrench to leave so many talented colleagues and supportive listeners but I know Radio Devon has a bright future.” Mark Grinnell, Editor of BBC Radio Devon said: “I would like to thank Bill for all his hard work and success over the years in lots of different programmes. Bill has been great fun to work with and brings great energy to the sation, so we’re really going to miss him, as will the audience to BBC Radio Devon." |

Actually I only put them onto Google Drive for people to download them for a short time and I thought the links had stopped working but I just checked a few links and they still seem to work:
http://radamfi.blogspot.co.uk/ However shows after 13 September 2009 are not available because Absolute told me not to upload them, and those shows were available from the Absolute website. But not any more it seems. |

Any news or rumours on the rest of the line up yet? I wouldn't be surprised to see Justin Lee Collins pop up on there some time.

Still on Fubar. He deserves better. He's made mistakes and served the penalty. He needs a proper gig now.
I can’t wait for the rest of the line-up to be announced. I would be surprised if at launch any presenter left LBC to Talk Radio – I think it is an unknown quantity at the moment and LBC is such a powerhouse. However when LBC next reshuffles I suspect people may move then. |

I've just looked at the talkSPORT site, and if you go to the schedule and click on "Listen Again" where it appears, the show is split into half hour segments. If you then look at the page source in your browser, you can see these half hour segments can be downloaded easily as mp3 files. So for example for Alan Brazil's show this morning, you see this in the page source: Quote:
http://utv.vo.llnwd.net/o16/talkSPORT/20160225_0600_LA.mp3", If they do that for talkRADIO then that would be good enough.

I used it for many years when Mike GrahamS show wasn't wall to wall sport Only difference between this and lbc's podcast service is you get everything including news and ads. With the paid LBC service all the ads are taken out By the way I know any listeners to LBC do already know this I've only posted it for info for those who aren't LBC listeners |

I see that TalkRADIO is simply called 'Talk' on DAB radios that can only handle 8-character station names.
A surprising choice, given that TalkRADIO will be one of three stations under the 'Talk...' brand. I'd assumed they'd go with 'tlkRADIO' to keep it in line with 'tlkSPORT'. |

Breaking news from the Radio Devon facebook page. (sorry going off topic about talkradio but wondering if Bill is replacing Paul Ross for the afternoon show on Radio Berkshire...)
Bill Buckley, has announced he is leaving BBC Radio Devon. He’s still staying within BBC Local Radio, moving to BBC Radio Berkshire, where he will be closer to his husband and family. I lost touch with Bill after he left BBCLeicester, and am sad I didn't watch his Inside Out TV reports on the iPlayer, as I didn't know about them. I guess his husband must have stayed in Birmingham whilst Bill worked in Devon. At least Berkshire is only 2 hours from Birmingham, so he can still keep in touch with family. I hope he does the 1-4pm show, so I can listen online again. Good Luck Bill!

The last 100 Absolute shows are still on iTunes.
Over the years you have been a well respected presence on DS forums. |

As someone who is looking forward to talkSPORT 2 in the same way many of you are eagerly awaiting talkRADIO, I hope both stations get the Listen Again treatment the main station gets. The recent redesign of talkSPORT.com and in particular its schedule page leaves me feeling hopeful that this is more likely than not. |

You can stick those links into a download manager. There are many such programs. For example, for the Chrome browser you can get the Chrono Download Manager extension.

You could always use streamwriter to record the shows, it allows you to specify start and stop times and record multiple stations. You can set it up to record even if not there at the time as long as you leave the PC on. It's free software checkout at https://streamwriter.org/en/.

Liam Fisher said more presenters to be announced later this month in this article:
