Talk radio's own announcement about Whale and Jonny Gould:

http://talkradio.co.uk/news/james-wh...dio-1611016075

I'd be amazed if Whale doesn't move to another slot by the end of 2017.

It sounds like Victoria Borne (the afternoon newsreader) who is the recorded message if you call talkRADIO on the new phone number.

Standing are Gary Newbon, Vanessa Feltz, Dan Erlich, Anna Raeburn, Jeremy Beadle, Dr David Starkey and Dale Winton.

There is someone behind Newbon but they are blocked.

Crouching are Nancy Roberts, Caesar the Geezer and Gary Jacobs.

That's impressive dpb, I didn't manage to get Nancy Roberts or Dan Erlich, in fact I'll own up I don't even remember a Dan Erlich.

new (cheaper I believe) phone number given out by paul ross this morning.
0344 499 1000

is a regular national call so is included in mobile phone inclusive minutes and regular phone packages.

The phone number has also changed on the talkRADIO website.
My apologies for duplicating this. Oh dear!

It's good news that talkRADIO has at last changed to a cheaper number better late than never! I've checked and indeed all of the major networks have 0344 included with their free minutes the same as local numbers i.e. 01 and 02. Also James Whale is a good addition to the team and he will bring along a very healthy fan base. One major thing they really need to do is ditch the simulcast of talkSPORT between 1am and 6am and have a proper dedicated show instead. The majority of listeners to talkRADIO do not want to have sport shoved down their throats so will undoubtedly switch off.

Proper lads talk too.

Great podcast to download when you are in the gym.

Get down to watch their live shows. They now have their own roadshow/media empire growing. Funny as any of the best comedians.

Jason Cundy and Andy Goldstein bring the quality of the station down a bit.

Cundy just shouts everyone down, and is basically a know-it-all ex footballer who thinks the sun shines out of footballers behinds when they are all overpaid, primadonnas who are turning people off footballer. You can hear the anger/rage in his voice at times, quite disturbing.

He's the bald guy stood behind Vanessa. He is an American and hosted Sunday breakfast at launch.

Bring back Dr David Starkey!

Though I was rather perturbed to lock shopping trolleys with him at Islington Sainsbury's during his time on Talk, and see the rather angelic blonde partner he was with......er, young enough to be his son.

The difference with the station then and now is that most of the presenters then were experts in their field, experienced presenters and trained journalists. Now the majority just have a gift of the gab, but often have little grasp of facts and it all becomes so boring after a short while.

And can someone tell Ash he's not funny!

Yes I enjoyed listening to David Starkey as well, how old will he be now do you think and could he still do a good job on radio somewhere?.
