Here's a photograph of the original Talk Radio UK presenter line-up back in 1995.

How many can you name?.

Wasn't Tommy Boyd part of the original line-up as well?

Yes I enjoyed listening to David Starkey as well, how old will he be now do you think and could he still do a good job on radio somewhere?.
He's 71, and I see no reason why he couldn't do a weekend show, as he used to on Talk. Mary Berry is 81 and still employed by the BBC.

Don't forget Carol McGiffin, Scott Chisholm and Lowry Turner.

Although he's been wiped from history, one of my favourites was Jonathan King's mid-morning show. He could talk about any subject under the sun and make it interesting.

Just after 2 o'clock, Victoria told Jon that it is her voice you hear when you call talkRADIO. Jon said that someone Tweeted about it yesterday. Victoria wanted to know what was said but all it said was that you could hear Victoria on the phone. The Tweet came from me.

Unusually, today's contestant is a Kerrang presenter. Normally they get someone who is connected to talkRADIO or one of the other Wireless Group stations.

Sam Delaney is going to Washington between Monday and Thursday to cover the US presidential election.

http://radiotoday.co.uk/2016/11/sam-...for-talkradio/

It looks like he will be presenting his show from there Monday to Thursday as well as appearing on The James Whale Show feat. Ash on Tuesday.

Jonny's last show tonight and it doesn't sound like one of their best shows. I just can't wait for James Whale though. The new Sunday schedule looks to be starting on the 13th November and I'll be very interested to know what it looks like.

I thought she was very good on Talk Radio UK, I haven't heard her for years now.

Would love to hear Carol McGiffin on talkRADIO. I believe she's been Paul Ross' newspaper review on a few occasions although would make a good stand-in for a number of shows.

BTW Lowri Turner and Jonathan King weren't part of the original line-up of Talk Radio UK, they became presenters, as did The Whale and others, when they revamped the schedule six months in. I say became presenters as Lowri regularly contributed before then to Scott Chisholm's morning show once a week before they moved to drivetime together.

Me, too. I loved her Sunday morning show on LBC, which was pitched just right for that time-slot I felt, with a mixture of light-hearted fun, some serious topics, and 'magazine-style' specialist slots, such as travel advice.

It's a very different show, but I feel that Jake Yapp gives a similar balance, which I like very much.

She did a short run of very funny shows with Nick Abbot in the summer of 1997 as well as at launch with Moz Dee on "The Rude Awakening" (which was due to be the breakfast show, hence the name, but moved to the evening pre-launch.)

Jon regularly mentions Cheryl Cole's conviction of assault at a nightclub in Guildford because most people seem to have forgotten about it. On Wednesday, all the Haikus were Cheryl Cole themed.

I have just listened to a 2013 XFM podcast and even back then he was keen on mentioning her regularly (from 26:38)

Talk radio's own announcement about Whale and Jonny Gould:

http://talkradio.co.uk/news/james-wh...dio-1611016075

I'd be amazed if Whale doesn't move to another slot by the end of 2017.
That's an odd statement from TR.

They say the evening slot is popular, yet they have bounced Jonny Gould out of his slot.

I like James Whale & he will be a great addition, but it does seem a bit harsh on Jonny Gould if their statement is to be believed.

"Popular" is a weasel word. It doesn't necessary mean he had a lot of listeners. And even if he did, it still might be worth swapping him for someone who might get even more listeners.

I think it can be agreed by most people James Whale is a better more interesting broadcaster than Jonny Gould and that's why they've done it, James Whale followed by Iain Lee for me it can't get much better.

That's true; it is a quality line-up.

I don't mind Jonny Gould TBH: he's got a smooth sounding, almost Terry Wogan like voice, but Whale is far more abrasive & has an historical loyal following.

All they need to do now is give George Galloway more slots & also try & tempt Nick Abbot over to do some shows too!

It is sounding like a quality line up indeed. They 7-10pm slot is a bit of a graveyard shift all around, I believe, with people turning on their TV's, so having a name with a following is a good choice, I think.

I also liked Jonny Gould, although in that slot I didn't hear a great deal of him. I hope his weekend show works out.

Nick Abbot teamed back up with Carol McGiffin would be a dream come true!

Not that I know of, although it would be nice if someone was to create one!

I've updated the feeds for the GMT / BST issue and added two new feeds. There may be some issues with last week's programmes if you're using for the first time as the app is now assuming BST.

http://podcasts.mywebcommunity.org/lee.php
http://podcasts.mywebcommunity.org/holmes.php

NEW:
http://podcasts.mywebcommunity.org/hughes.php
http://podcasts.mywebcommunity.org/jaye.php

Just a reminder these feeds are unsupported and unofficial and merely point at the individual mp3 files hosted by TalkRADIO itself. Any issues, let me know!
Can anyone tell me if there's a way to create something like this for the Two Mikes?

I'm also interested to know what software folks use to download shows?

Thanks in advance from a technophobe!
