Whaley good news! I'm usually to be found making something to eat just before Iain's show and have been reluctantly listening to Clive Bull's boring legal hour or whatever for want of anything else. I like Ash but his bro is not very interesting, in my opinion. So James and Ash back together is something to look forward to!

Who?

I wish he was back with the Argument Hour.
That would be wonderful. Do you see what I did there??

I remember one argument Tommy had that was absolutely crazy.

I may have got some of this vaguely wrong, but I think I am more of less there with it.

A guy rang up and said all child killers should be hanged and Tommy turned round and said they shouldn't.

The man said something like 'but what if it was your daughter that was murdered' - to which Tommy said he would shake the killer's hand, because 'I am better than that.'

Something along those lines. I think the video is on YouTube.

The schedule for next Sunday is on the website but it shows an unchanged schedule from previous weeks. Either Jonny is having a week off or the website schedule is yet to be updated.

Jonny starts his Sunday show on 27 November.
He posted that on Twitter three days ago, and said the show is 4-7.

That means there will be other schedule changes on Sunday, as 7 Days of talkRADIO is currently 3-5 and the repeat of Home Rule is currently 5-7.

Talking of Home Rule, Martin Roberts is apparently going into I'm A Celebrity so I presume his show will be a best of for the next few weeks, unless someone else fills in.

Is Ash going to get equal billing like with the Brothers Gould show?

I liked Ash & James together too, but he wasn't given equal billing to James as he was the producer who just chipped in every now & then.

I believe the reason why Jonny Gould probably wasn't a successful as they'd hoped was the fact that they gave Ash equal billing.

Ash is funny, but he's clearly not a serious presenter & can sound a bit amateurish.

Jonny is an accomplished broadcaster, but I felt them giving Ash equal presenter status brought the show down a bit, as his style is not really suited to thr 7pm slot.

There were times where you could hear a slight annoyance with Jonny after Ash had said something , usually to bring the conversation back on track.

Nothing against Ash it was an interesting idea, and I think James will keep him in check but feel that Jonny would have been better on his own, pity they didn't move him to 10am to 1pm in all of this....

The article I read on Radio Today left me with the impression that Jonny didn't want to do a three-hour show four times a week. He wants to have time to do other things within the group.

If that was the case why on earth would he have taken it on,to 'quit' so soon?

Not that I know of, although it would be nice if someone was to create one!

I've updated the feeds for the GMT / BST issue and added two new feeds. There may be some issues with last week's programmes if you're using for the first time as the app is now assuming BST.

http://podcasts.mywebcommunity.org/lee.php
http://podcasts.mywebcommunity.org/holmes.php

NEW:
http://podcasts.mywebcommunity.org/hughes.php
http://podcasts.mywebcommunity.org/jaye.php

Just a reminder these feeds are unsupported and unofficial and merely point at the individual mp3 files hosted by TalkRADIO itself. Any issues, let me know!
Does anyone know how to update these as I am getting the wrong hour at the start of each recording since the clocks changed. This means an hour of JHB instead of Jon Holmes - which has knocked my chakras out of line!!

HELP!

There's a podcast, or do you mean the half hour listen again thingy?

I thought about this as soon as I posted it. I actually mean the half hour listen again thingy. I wish they made it easier to listen to on a mobile,

I've recently become a Talk Radio addict because of Julia Hartley-Brewer's show. I think it's fantastic! (Light years better than Chile's on 5Live)

Also been enjoying Friday nights, with George Galloway, Iain Lee and Adam Catterel's sports phone-in.

Wilson who has spoke to Iain was his second caller. Did a new version of the James Whale song.

Interesting, seems the first News Corp advertising is happening. Paul Ross' show has been promoted on The Sun's twitter feed and via an online article regarding the US Election and talkRADIO's phone in.

James Whales shows was great last night, it was more a general conversation rather than hard news talk - hope it stays that way, plus he seemed to have a good number of calls for the first night.

Iain told us last night that Jake Yapp would be sitting in for him. Presumably (I thought) Iain was just having a night off because of some other commitment. Initially I thought this was fine as Jake and Kath were a good team the last time they were together, and of course for once there isn't a best of. But at the end of last night's show, Iain said he might be sleeping when the show is on. And it turns out it is going to be an election special.

A number of questions arise from this.

Did Iain not want to do an election special, hence they had to get Jake in?
Did the management tell Iain to have the night off because they prefer Jake to do the election special?
Do we really need a US election special when the other speech stations are doing it?

Perhaps the election will just be an additional theme tonight and you will still be able to phone in with whatever you want.

I love the lighter tone of Talk Radio's shows, Jon Holmes, Iain Lee, I hope under Murdoch they don't become more like LBC. Can anyone see Galloway's show lasting under Murdoch?
