from what Iain's posting on twitter, he isn't very impressed with the report. It seems to really have affected him deeply what happened and its aftermath. I do hope he can put it behind him and come back better than ever on 21st March.

Iain did a "talkRADIO warm up" show on Periscope at 10 o'clock for half an hour and he announced there would be a "best of" show on Saturdays.

https://www.periscope.tv/iainlee/1YqKDaPmmreGV

He said there would be "something special on Fridays" and said he can do pretty much what he wants.

He also said overnights would be a simulcast of TalkSport

Ooh, I'm listening to the recording so I haven't got to that bit yet. A little disappointing but not a big surprise TBH. I wouldn't be surprised if talkSPORT 2 also takes the same output.

I'm not surprised that Talksport will be simulcast overnight but expect that if the station is a success then this will quite quickly change.

The Periscope was a good listen especially for radio geeks. Iain's worried that there won't be many calls because it is on DAB so he's got guests lined up.

We need Ian Collins and his Creatures of the Night. I wish James Whale and Ash were coming back too. Those were the days

Also won't forget that nutter Cesar the Geezer, some really crazy radio back then but it was so Partridge-cringe that it was amazing to listen to.

I miss Talk Radio, so glad it's coming back, I just hope they are prepared to take risks again.

Until a month ago I wasn't very optimistic about talkRADIO at all. Now it looks like it may be more interesting than I had ever hoped possible.

thanks for the perescope link will give that a lisson. I did suspect and say earlier in the thread that there might be a best of Iain Lee show on a weekend-- an easy way to fill the schedules. I and others also predicted the over night show would just be the 2 Mikes-- so although disapointed about being right I'm not too surprised. the 2 Mikes is pretty sport low anyway so won't be as jarring as it could have been to have it on. less than 3 weeks to go... looking forward to it!

I'm the opposite. I was very hopeful for something good, but other than Iain I can see nothing of interest at all to me on there.

to be fair, we don't know the whole station line-up yet. there is still hope! not interested in the breakfast or drive shows but JHB could be a good listen.

That's a big shame. I do most of my radio listening overnight

my only disappointment it paul ross on breakfast.

he is a real c lister. never excelled on any station he has been on. v v average or even below average.

I feel very sure he wont stay long and wont bring any success.

his track record is v poor....

Iain again reiterated that he was offered pretty much whichever show he wanted. Being selfish I'd have liked him on drive, but lates is good too.

Looks like you're as a big of fan of him as you are of correct punctuation.

In music radio, drive is a key time of day, but in speech based radio, 10 pm is a more prestigious time slot.

Agree. Iain has his rightful place in the prime late night talk space. He's a massively undervalued talent and I hope he can go on from here to become a true legend of the talk genre.

Also he's the most sincere, honest and decent human being as you could ever wish to meet. I can vouch for that having met him with my daughter at two of his 2015 stage shows. Really hope he finally finds his spiritual home with this show and gets some reward for all the efforts he's put into radio. He's destined to be the next Tony Spendlove.

EDIT: I should clarify, I was with my daughter when I met him. I didn't meet him, with my daughter. If you get my drift. That's not why he was sacked from the BBC...

Oh I agree.

But... he also said they asked him "don't you want breakfast" and he said no. Which I would say IS a slot anyone would want.

It suggests Iain is happier doing 'late night radio' than the 3CR stuff, despite that show being absolutely fantastic.

Someone on twitter who supposedly works for TalkRadio is suggesting that TalkRadio are planning to release their full schedule today. Not seen that said by them though...

sorry about my punctuation etc.

However you must agree that wherever Paul Ross has worked on air its hardly been a success.

Mark my words.....he wont last long. Just not good enough....
