Someone on twitter who supposedly works for TalkRadio is suggesting that TalkRadio are planning to release their full schedule today. Not seen that said by them though...
Unusual to make such an announcement so late in the day. Maybe embargoed until tomorrow via press release?

He also said overnights would be a simulcast of TalkSport
Oh gawd more sport. Just what I suspected and didn't want.
Who's to say that talkSPORT's overnight programmes will be all sport? The current weekday edition of Extra Time with The Two Mikes, Messers Parry and Graham, discusses a variety of difficult topics - some sporting topics, but it's not a heavy focus of their show from what I've heard of it.

It's recently been confirmed that Tom Latchem - a print journalist who has been a regular with The Two Mikes discussing the newspapers for a few years now - will be taking over from Russell Hargreaves (who is moving to become the talkSPORT 2 breakfast show host for part of the week) on the Saturday night/Sunday morning edition of Extra Time. Hargreaves is leaving the Sunday night/Monday morning overnight programme too, although I'm not sure who'll be replacing him on that - maybe former Radio 5 Live broadcaster Bob Ballard, his usual substitute? Adam Catterall, a music radio DJ, is the regular Friday night/Saturday morning host. In any case, the appointment of Latchem suggests that the weekend version of Extra Time may gravitate away from being an all-sport programme as the weekday one has. They'll probably be looking to strike a balancing act, seeing as Extra Time is also likely to be simulcast on talkSPORT 2 as well.

sorry about my punctuation etc.

However you must agree that wherever Paul Ross has worked on air its hardly been a success.

Mark my words.....he wont last long. Just not good enough....
I used to like him on the old Talk Radio about 15 years ago on weekend mornings with Carol McGiffin.

I liked Paul Ross on the old TR as well, he also did the breakfast slot on weekdays as well. He also had Lowri Turner doing the show with him for a while.
He was on TR for a fair while, so i wouldn't say he wasn't a success at it.

Do you remember the Paul's pen feature, where someone would get a free add by sending him one of their pens? In other words he'd read out the company who'd sent it to him.

I remember that! On the pen thing, I remember the talkRADIO postcode at the time ended 1PP as PR used to say 1 Paul's pen when reading the address to send them to.

I'd love to see Carol back on talkRADIO. She also did a great show with Nick Abbot, but I think a reunion there is beyond what I could hope for.

If you ever listen to NA on LBC you will find he's nothing like he used to be. You might occasionally hear a glimmer of his former self, but he mainly just moans about bankers or politicians.

He's working with the format he's given I think.

I really hope he does, I think we are in for at least one big surprise when the full line up is announced.

I do agree with you. One exception though. When he started on BBC GLR about 1991/2, he did (I think) a Sunday morning show - the first few weeks of it were classic listens - he had good ideas, he had energy and it worked well. I think that he was also one of the producers of The Word on C4 and had a bit of gossip from that which featured on his radio show.

However, after about six months, the energy sort of seemed to disappear, and he became very mediocre to me. Since then, again to me, he has become more annoying, than inventive, and I do not think that he is a good choice for Breakfast.

Now, if it was his brother, Jonathan, who was to do Breakfast, that would be a different thing. JR's Saturday Radio 2 show, was a cracker, even in the days when it had to be prerecorded. I would love to hear JR on Radio again, along with Andy, his then producer.

He is certainly not what he used to be, but to be fair to him, he is quite unique in the general run of LBC presenters; I do genuinely find his weekend programmes very entertaining and (gasp) a little bit educational as well. At the moment, he has a caller from Liverpool, (Thomas is it?) who calls in to have a go at what Thomas calls "The Marxist Cultural Commentators of the Media" or some cac like that. NA is very very entertaining in that way he takes to p..s out of him, and yet Thomas keeps on coming back for more. Truly entertaining radio.

I may well get shouted down for this, but another presenter who I think is unique, is Steve Allen on early morning LBC. I may not always agree with what he says, and at times he can be a bit bilious (but at least it's with the right celebs), but you have to hand it to him. He can do that show non stop for two hours (excl adverts travel and news) without taking calls) which is also unique, as far as LBC is concerned.

Having said that, I am not predicting that SA will go to TalkRadio. I sure he knows that he is fine, where he is.

bit poor that still we don't knowthe rest of the schedule-- normally with a new station you'd know this sort of thing by now... surely they have actually managed to find people to fill the slots... surely?
agree with the comments about Paul Ross, not a very inspiring choice for breakfast. guess if Iain Lee is to be believed, the slot was his if he'd wanted it so maybe the management are just making do with a second choice.

Iain was bigging up Nick Abbot on Periscope just now, saying that Friday is the day he's most worried about, because he's up against Abbot. He said the show was going to be more like LBC and Absolute and less like 3CR, but there will be some 3CR type bits in it. He met the boss today and he was told that he can push boundaries and they will stick up for him if he gets into any Ofcom trouble. Also he mentioned that he doesn't meet up with Agent Chris or Eloise regularly.

Iain has been a huge fan of NA for years-- I remember having an email conversation with Iain when he was on LBC mentioning how much he loved his show.
Doesn't Agent Chris now produce Nick F on LBC...or have I just made that up? sure I read that on DS somewhere.

I'm convinced there's something going on with Kath and Iain Lee (not in that way for any of you with minds in the gutter!) just because she's being so secretive on twitter about her new job and when Iain's on periscope everyone is literally shouting her name at him in the comments yet he ignores them completely. I'm pretty convinced she's at TalkRadio but just not sure it's as simple as her being his producer though...
