Yes it does, but I had to convert using media coder audio edition. The old steam address I had didn't work any more. I'm hoping by that logic it will be something like: http://radio.talkradio.com/uk

Does this mean Jon is leaving X? Can't see him doing 7 days a week and pre records for either show not really an option...

I hope not, but I think it might be

Great news he's on, but I can't listen much on afternoons.

Jonny Gould on evenings? I really hope this isn't a sports show (although hard to see what else it could be), given that they'll already have two dedicated sports stations.

Apart from that, I really like the look of the schedule. It's certainly no LBC clone. It reminds me a lot of the original Talk Radio (UK) - so I hope it has more success.

I'd imagine Jon Holmes will leave Radio X when his contract is up (which may have been the plan all along), but it would be a huge loss. His current show is the best weekend breakfast show around in my opinion.

Looks like a varied schedule - it'll be different to 5Live and LBC which will make it an interesting listen.

A lot of appointment to listen shows in there. I imagine the weekend specialist shows will be heavily sponsored.

While he's best known for sport Jonny has done non-sport stuff as well - newspaper preview/reviews on TV and back in 1995 a few months co-hosting Talk Radio UK breakfast with Sean Bolger. Be interesting to see what format his show takes. It should be a good listen - especially with his brother being part of the show too.

Johnny Gould was good with Simon Bates on smooth and is a good paper reviewer. Jon Holmes might still be able to do weekend breakfast for X? Eamonn Holmes is a good interviewer. It's a mix of different talented talk radio broadcasters like LBC.

For Smooth Radio Sport... he's Jonny Gould!

Surprised Radio X didn't try to keep Jon happy if he is indeed going - his RAJARs were very strong at weekends (stronger than the big names at 10am for example!).

I'll miss the podcasts, Con and Ronnie if this is the end.

I cant see him working 7 days a week. Maybe he could do a swap with Elis and John and do the 10am Saturday show?

Saturday nights:

LBC - 8pm-10pm, Sex & Relationships with Lucy Beresford.

Talk Radio - 9pm-midnight, Sex and Relationships with Anna Williamson

Coincidence?

Julia Hartley-Brewer will be up against James O'Brien on LBC, interesting. I'm normally listening to Mike Sweeney on Radio Manchester at that time but if he is talking about something I'm not keen on it's nice to know I have a choice (can't stand O'Brien).

I think that line up looks pretty good. Certainly diverse and something for most. Will offer something missing from the dial at the moment.

Welcome back Howard Hughes too!

Yes will be great to finally have two national commercial talk stations, the competition between the two should keep both on their toes.
Will be interesting to hear how Jon Holmes fits in at Talk and yes I'm looking forward to Sundays with Howard also.

I liked Jon Holmes on LBC in 2006 when sitting in for Iain and also when he had his own Friday afternoon in 2007. I've listened to him on and off over the years on 6 Music and Radio X but it isn't the same without calls. If Jake Yapp's show is anything like the test transmissions last Saturday/Sunday then that could be amusing as well.

My main reservation about talkRADIO is that there may not be enough time to listen to all the shows I want to listen to! Obviously I'll be listening to every minute of Iain's show but I'll probably record 24/7 for the first week and sample bits of everything. Hopefully there will be Listen Again for all shows like they do for talkSPORT.

Eamonn Holmes Sunday show should be a good listen if he can get good guess on.
Bob Mills was great on GLR however it did have music then & a 10pm slot i seem to recall

The Gadget and Migabits or whatever its call could be good but is up agaist the football unless they do updates.

A bit odd having two differant breakfast shows on Saturday & Sunday.

Something for everyone.

Listening to their trail now reminds me of the trail for the original TalkRadio, which featured among others Vanessa Feltz and Caesar the Geezer! I think I prefer the latest incarnation.

TalkRADIO, there's a good argument for listening! Freecall 0500 105389. I remember it like it was yesterday!

I think the two stations outputs will, for the most part, be quite different, apart from the odd overlap.

You do realise the last 2 weekend breakfasts by Jon have been pre recorded right ? However i'm 99% sure he won't be on both, i can't see global allowing it.

EDIT: Confirmed that he leaves Radio X on the 20th

Agreed, Con is going to be coming over to talk with him as his producer or assistant producer, not sure how involved in on air stuff he will be though. I also hope Ronni makes an appearance on the new show, she's been very good on Radio X Weekend Breakfast and excellent on the podcasts, would be great for her to get a gig.

Another good listen. Katia is always a good sport. She's been calling since the LBC days and was regular on 3CR.

Presumably the best of show will be on Saturday evening and not before 8am on Saturday.

Will Iain actually have a producer or can they get away with just the tech op?
