If I were a betting man I'd lay money on Paul Ross and Julia Hartley-Brewer featuring in the line-up.

Has Paul Ross done much since his newspaper expose?

I woke up at 4am and found Cristo was talking about Food we ate in the 70s and 80s - Findus Crispy pancakes, tinned treacle pudding, frozen mousse, etc - so LBC does go 'light' at various times. Friday evening 6pm Iain Dale was talking about Susan Sarandon's cleavage exposure and what Piers Morgan said about it. I notice Nolan also talked about it last night.

Also the idea that most LBC presenters are right wing is false. I would say a minority are - Steve Allen, Ferrari, yes, Dale is more New Labour these days, even Mellor is hyper critical of Cameron.
O'Brien, Fogarty, Clive Bull, Ollie Mann, Cristo, Darren Adam, Abbot, all presenters who are not Right Wing.

I sincerely hope the new TalkRadio doesn't import the same tedious callers we've all heard for decades and I, personally, am bored to tears of, talking the same old crap. To me, that is the biggest turn off. They will always call in, as they love the sound of their own voice, but stations should ban some of them for being totally overexposed with the irritation factor a total turn off.

Also the pre-Global LBC line-up lost listeners in droves. Too much nonsense is equally off putting. If Iain Lee has signed, I hope he doesn't do a similar show to his LBC one, as that was not my cup of tea at all.

But even if he does, which I doubt, it would only be for 3 or 4 hours a day at most. Does it really matter if the remaining 20 hours of the day are "listenable"? I'm not expecting great things from Talk Radio and expect it to be similar to LBC or talkSPORT's non-sport programming before they replaced it with 24/7 sport, but if there's 3 hours a day of programming I like, I'll be happy.

I think with Talk Radio launchng in Feb/March, currently with no publicity or marketing it is bound to do so well!

I'm hoping for some decent evening radio, you know when there's f*** on TV like all those cookery shows or dreadful soaps. LBC at that time have Clive Bull who way back when was a great listen but not so much now and as for the bloke on at 10pm no thanks he way to dull.

Clearly, that's only part of the schedule too. Plenty more to be announced.

Yes, I wonder who's going to be on 1-4pm weekdays?

Also, I imagine Paul Ross will leave his BBC Local jobs now, a slap in the face for the BBC London Controller who deliberately put him on at 4am to counteract LBC's spike for Steve Allen. Their new schedule only started in January too.

I was right magazine style shows presenter led featuring a wide variety of topics
So not just politics and health
I'm thinking LBC may have something to worry about

Tommy Boyd........ Hopefully.
It was his slot on the old Talk Radio.

Iain Lee back in his rightful slot, this alone makes D2 worthwhile.

I'm quite happy to see Paul Ross back on the morning 6 to 10 slot. I always liked his show at that time on the old TR, although i think it worked because he also had a female co presenter. For a while it was Lowri Turner, then Carol McGiffin.

Iain Lee's Twitter is busy this morning. The most interesting message IMO is:

There are more surprises but I don't want to shoot my bolt completely today. Trust me. We're going to have fun.

Time will tell

Another Ofcom regulated talk radio station

Remains to be seen how controversial they will be allowed to get

I know Paul Ross was on the original Talk Radio but he seems a singularly uninspired choice for the breakfast show. His BBC London breakfast efforts since then have not exactly troubled the RAJARs.

Personally I’m pleased with the line-up announced so far and going from these presenter’s previous form these could be complementary shows to what LBC is doing at the same time (right leaning JHB vs left leaning JO’B, current affairs topic driven Ian Collins vs a lighter Iain Lee).

I suggested Paul Ross previously so thought it wouldn’t happen once he moved to early breakfast on BBC London. I’m a fan of Iain Lee so am looking forward to him being back on air and late night radio needs something a bit lighter in tone during the week.

I also wonder if Galloway is unsuccessful in his Mayoral bid whether he'll end up doing more shows.

Be interesting to see who else fills the schedule.
