There is a new forum which is catering for the new talkradio station, are you part of that as well? Dont want to name it, but its domain includes the name of another radio station with the word "unofficial"

Oh yes. I wish I listened to them and recorded all of those shows at the time, although others have managed to record a good number of them. Nick used to say "Freecall" like "Freak-all".

Something engaging, lighter but ultimately something which will build the listener base and make the station attractive to advertisers and sustainable.

On Facebook, Paul Ross' producer has asked for people who:
are truckers have found love on Twitter are fans of William Haana's work are transgender have a relative alive with Alzheimer's Sounds like a mix of light and heavy topics. I don't think his show will be for me. |

I'm looking forward to the return of talkRADIO.
I was gutted when it became talkSPORT & went to 24 hour days football talk & I virtually stopped listening because, even though I like football, I don't want to hear about it 24 hours a day. Luckily LBC has gone national to fill the gap created by the original Talk Radio UK, but it will be good to have national commercial rival to give us more choice. Their lineup sounds promising too. |

The http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/ website seemed to be quick with the update for talkSPORT 2 so I would guess that would be the first place to see the talkRADIO stream. |

Hi Radamfi, I am his producer. These are for features we are doing over the next two months. What do you not like? What were you looking for Paul to do? We want to get you talking (as well as listening) so I would be interested to hear your feedback.

I understand completely! I need to be awake at 3am and I too want to listen to iain Lee. Thankfully we have podcasts so I can catch up on him then, I think I will try and stay up for his first 30minutes each night. Jon is going to be a great show as well- I have heard some excellent features being created by his production team. Don't forget Eammon Holmes on the weekend doing in depth interviews. Stephen Nolan has been great at doing those on 5Live on a Saturday night at 11pm but he only manages to scrape the surface. As a listener it is great TalkRadio are giving him two hours to really understand his guests. I am a massive radio listener. I have set times I listen to all my favourite radio shows across stations such as Radio1/Heat/LBC/Heart/Radio 4/Kiss. I know what is coming up on all the shows and I am finding it hard to find a way to listen once we launch on March 21st.
In terms of breakfast, we are making a lot of features fun. We have great games. We have lots of surprises which as a massive forumer on here for 11 years I know you will like as I have been looking at what yourself and other posters have wanted on Talk Radio. We have to also look at the days news but I promise it will be in a fun creative way. We also have some great celebrities coming in. I can't tell you the who the guests are yet that we have booked but what I would say is do not cut us off on pre-conceptions. Please do give feedback though on day 1, week 1, month 1, year 1. We are here to entertain you in the morning and get you talking. If there is something you do not like- tell us. We will change it. If you are not talking then we are not doing our jobs properly. |

PS- the big selling point for me with talkRADIO is being personality led. Personality led is so sorely needed in the speech radio arena. |

Jonjons - Great to see a forumer whose opinions I've always respected on here landing such a great job - congratulations! Just been reading your blog about the interview - very encouraging - seems like a good bunch of people with a genuine passion for radio that interviewed you which should bode well.

Given the varied output, it would be amazing if anyone will enjoy everything on the station. Indeed, I would see it as a success if everyone has one or two shows that they really enjoy, even if they dislike the rest. |

It is certainly hard not to get excited about the station. I had really low expectations a few months ago, but it just seems to get better and better. It seems too good to be true. We've been conditioned since the dramatic change to LBC in 2007 to believe that variety doesn't pay. Many of us believed that constant rotation of the same topics show after show wouldn't be successful, but you can't argue with their ratings. There are parallels here to LBC 2005 to 2007 under David Lloyd. If LBC hadn't been bought by Global Radio back then, how long would that format have lasted? Maybe that would also have been a ratings success, if it had been given more time.

Two of the other topics will be of interest to me, as i'm an ex trucker and my Father is currently suffering from dementia. May well be calling in about those. |
