I just tried

http://radio.talkradio.co.uk/stream

for an experiment. It is currently streaming the talkSPORT 2 test transmission but maybe that will change to talkRADIO at some point.
Where did you find it?

Yes awful sound quality, maybe in the days of dial up that would be okay.

What I remember is that TB was sacked along with the entire team when a Irish republican suggested that the Royal family/queen mother should be taken out and **** in the back of the head, all sacked because they did not dump the call.

The wrestling I believe was down to the radio station not knowing that TB had a slice of the wrestling action and when they found out that he was using the station to promote his own business interest they sacked him.

That always been my take on it.
I get the impression that TB is no stranger to management looking for a reason to get rid of him. There was also the '4000 gays' call where Tommy stated a mathematical fact that statistically there must have been thousands of homosexual soldiers at the Normandy landings. Of course a caller from a certain generation took huge offense at this. This sacking surely caused 99.9% of the audience to ask "wtf?" I think this was around 1999/2000.

I for one would absolutely love to hear Boyd back on the radio. He isn't the same presenter that he was in 1995 with his incredible late afternoon, but I hugely enjoyed his more sedate, philosophical persona from BBC Southern Counties. I believe he actually left of his own accord from that one...!

I'm sure I saw a tweet from Ash saying he was going to be a techie for Iain Lee and a few other presenters.

What chance James Whale ends up on TalkRadio at some point in the near future when the station settles down? A big miss in the evenings when he was dismissed after his Boris endorsement back in March 2008. Within weeks he was on the appalling Bid TV shopping channel flogging stuff for a short time. I've been listening to his weekly podcasts for the past 2 years, am now a bit in arrears on them, but he would fit well back on national radio of this kind at some point if the opportunity arose.

I think its time to give new presenters and new shows a chance, not shows/presenters from 20 years ago! the only presenter from the old TR fronting a show is Paul Ross and I think its right to go forsomething different. at the end of the day, there was a reason the old talk radio went all sport-- because it made commercial sense. if the station wasn't as successful as they wanted it to be in the past, why go back to all the old faces from those days? as good as he was, if I was management at talk radio I wouldn't have been interested in bringing TB back either.
I could not agree more. Paul Ross at breakfast although not my first choice is a safe bet. The mid morning slot could do well with a left leaning person v right as a double act. Outside these slots the station sounds interesting.

I would of liked Danny Baker do a weekly show with maybe a long Saturday night fun quiz instead of some sex & relationship show.

For the people asking about Ash... he'll be presenting alongside his brother Jonny Gould from 7-10 week day evenings. could be a decent listen that. James Whale seems quite settled at the BBC so I can't see him moving to Talk Radio any time soon.

I seem to remember James Whale presenting the night talkRADIO became talkSPORT. I don't think it will happen but I'd like to see/hear talkRADIO incorporate some of the original jingles. But I'm an anorak!

His drive time show on LBC in my opinion was a bit dull, too rushed and interviewing political type guests who were just sitting on the fence as usual.

If you mean talkRADIO, then no. Online and DAB only.

Iain has recorded his fourth podcast today, and he videoed it too:

https://www.periscope.tv/iainlee/1YqKDadaZYwGV

I wouldn't recommend watching it beyond 12 minutes before listening to the podcast as you can't hear the callers because it was recorded in the talkRADIO/talkSPORT building. In the first 12 minutes he introduces Ed, his tech op and they walk around the building.

Interestingly he says that Ed might be the producer.

The talkRADIO studio still isn't built yet, which is probably why the stream is broadcasting talkSPORT 2 at the moment.

Still no studio yet, one week before launch? Strange.

Maybe they've been concentrating on getting talkSPORT 2 sorted, so they can work on talkRADIO from tomorrow.

The talkSPORT app has just been updated today to allow listening to talkSPORT 2 which starts tomorrow. So I wouldn't be surprised if the talkRADIO app isn't ready until Sunday, or maybe Friday if you exclude weekends.

Funny that. Does anyone remember how he would frequently lay into the BBC on his late night show with previous Talk Radio UK and Talksport?

His early evening LBC show was mentioned as a dull listen. It was. But then James is one of those who suits a particular radio niche best, and that is late nights when he can say and do far more.

Late nights on the new TalkRadio look interesting and worth listening with Iain Lee and Howard Hughes on Sunday's which are probably the only two shows that will entice me in at first.
