Schedule is also up on the website

I notice on the schedule for Sunday (http://talkradio.co.uk/radio/schedule/2016-03-27
although I think the times are out due to the clock changes) there is a "7 Days of talkRADIO" show with a description:

"Katherine takes a break from Iain Lee to bring you the very best and worst from the week on talkRADIO."

Katherine Boyle maybe? Hopefully!

I've never heard the phrase 'full set breakfast' before. Am I missing a play on words or a cultural reference somehow?!

Audio on the stream is too low, I must turn up my volume. And bitrate still too low and sounding frayed.

This is the full schedule then...

Monday to Fridays

01:00 The Two Mikes with Mike Graham and Mike Parry (Mondays: Extra Time with Bob Ballard)
06:00 Paul Ross Full Set Breakfast
10:00 Julia Hartley-Brewer
13:00 Jon Holmes
16:00 Drive with Sam Delaney (Fridays: Drive with Yasmeen Khan)
19:00 Jonny Gould featuring Ash (Fridays: The Mother of all Talk Shows with George Galloway)
22:00 Late Nights with Iain Lee

Saturdays

01:00 Extra Time with Adam Catterall
06:00 Best of Late Nights with Iain Lee
08:00 Saturday Breakfast with Penny Smith
11:00 Gazumped with Martin Roberts
13:00 The Radio Hustle with Alexis Conran
15:00 Andy Jaye's Motors and Megabytes
18:00 Best of The Two Mikes
21:00 Sex and the Celebrity with Anna Williamson

Sundays

00:00 Extra Time with Tom Latchem
06:00 Best of Breakfast with Paul Ross
08:00 Jake Yapp's Comedians Breakfast
11:00 Let's Talk with Eamonn Holmes
13:00 Andy Jaye's Motors
15:00 7 Days of talkRADIO with Katherine Boyle
17:00 Gazumped with Martin Roberts
19:00 Tragedy Plus Time with Bob Mills
22:00 The Unexplained with Howard Hughes

Obviously George Galloway's show will begin after the London Mayoral Election has concluded, so will debut on Friday 6th May with Jonny and Ash Gould hosting Friday nights until then. To answer dpb's question, clicking on the 7 Days of talkRADIO listing in the schedule linked to redirects me to a page headed Katherine Boyle, so it'll be her.

One thing I've noticed is that there's a fair few "Best of" and other potentially recorded programmes going out at weekends, particularly in the afternoon. I'm wondering if the Andy Jaye's Motors programme on Sundays will be the same as his Motors and Megabytes show from Saturday.

Some of you might not want to hear this, but I wonder if on weekend afternoons talkRADIO might be used to provide talkSPORT with a tertiary sports platform if there are multiple live sporting events taking place at the same time. This Sunday for example, there are two Premier League games kicking off at 1.30pm as well as live cricket from the World Twenty20 - talkSPORT has rights to both football matches plus the cricket. When talkRADIO is up and running, I can see it being utilised to carry sports commentary when you have that sort of scenario, which it has to be said is fairly rare.

Only if he loses...

Which he will.

Not sure about 'Extra Time' - sounds like a sports show.

great that Cath will be involved and producing Iain's show. really looking forward to this now. re the 2 motoring shows on the weekend, I'm thinking they might be different shows as the sunday one is an hour shorter... couldbe highlights of the Sat show though I guess. I'd also rather have had the best of the 2 mikes and the best of Iain Lee switched around in the schedule but thats personal preference and doesn't really matter.

I guess it's time for me to brush off the dust and cobwebs on my PURE Pocket DAB 1000 radio.

Finally hoping for a serious challenge to Global's LBC. TalkRadio certainly have a strong line-up of presenters.

Is there a reason why I can't see the new website using the Chrome browser on a Chromebook and a Windows 7 PC (I still get the old holding page) but I can get it on my iPad and Android phone? I have tried clearing my cache.

Great news is that Listen Again is already activated, so you can listen back to the test transmissions in half hour intervals!

Agree. When they do sport in weekends and 'taped' shows it's a turn off for me. Useless to do that as a sisterstation from TalkSPORT.

Not sure about 'Extra Time' - sounds like a sports show.
It's talkSPORT's overnight show, which talkRADIO will be simulcasting. It's primarily a sports show, but certainly when The Two Mikes are in the chairs topics other than sport are discussed at length.

With Tom Latchem, who cut his teeth primarily as a print news journalist and used to review the front pages with Mike Graham, taking over one of the weekend slots recently (his predecessor has moved to talkSPORT 2), I could see it becoming more non-sport/current affairs-based now it is set to also be taken by talkRADIO (although not talkSPORT 2, who are taking live sport or pre-recorded review programmes overnight instead).

As for the prospect of there very occasionally being live sport on talkRADIO on weekend afternoons, frankly I don't think it would be too unreasonable to drop a show like The Best of the Two Mikes (primarily a sports show) once in a while (maybe putting it into the overnight hours where Extra Time is simulcast), shuffling around some of the other Saturday/Sunday timeslots and then setting aside 2-3 hours for an additional commentary when there's already one on talkSPORT and another one on talkSPORT 2. That would just be replacing a pre-recorded sports-based show with live sport, so surely not that terrible for people who really dislike sport.

Great news is that Listen Again is already activated, so you can listen back to the test transmissions in half hour intervals!
That's great, but how come they've not sorted out Listen Again for talkSPORT 2 yet? Weird that they can sort out Listen Again for talkRADIO before it launches, but not for talkSPORT 2 now it's been on-air for almost a week.

Here's a very nerdy observation - talkRADIO Listen Again is using the audio player talkSPORT.com uses for podcasts like their Premier League Preview show, as opposed to the player they use for talkSPORT Listen Again.

I've just checked that mp3 downloads can be made using the Listen Again in the same way as for talkSPORT:

for example midnight to 12.30am this morning:

http://cdn.talksport.com/talkradio/a...18_0000_LA.mp3

12.30am to 1am:

http://cdn.talksport.com/talkradio/a...18_0030_LA.mp3

etc.

Too right, how many sport channels do they need? They have TalkSPORT and TalkSPORT2 and if they let it bleed on to TalkRADIO I'll be turning it right off. There's nothing more boring that hearing sports commentary on the radio as far as I'm concerned and we certainly don't need 3 DAB channels of it all going at once from the same group.

"And he's kicked the ball, Mathews tries for a pass and missed, the blues now have control of the ball"

*off*

"And it's Lose Lizzy, coming up from behind, Lose Lizzy now in 2nd place, the favourite..."

*off*

"And you join us as darts champion Rob Jones is in the lead with 3......"

*AGGGGGHHHHH!!!!*

They've also got Virgin if they want to have 4 sports shows on at once! Not completely far-fetched, given that Absolute (and previously Virgin) have "Rock and Roll Football".

There is a car show on Saturdays and people who like cars also like motor racing so that show could feature sports content.

LBC gets fewer callers during weekday evenings and weekend afternoons. That isn't because of the presenters, but because that's when people tend to watch television or go out to evening entertainment such as theatres and sport. Talk Radio is starting with no audience. That means it is likely the lines won't be busy at peak times, except if enough of Iain Lee's fans tune in when he is on. Rather than have magazine shows on on weekday evenings, they have made the brave decision to have a 3-hour show with which people are presumably supposed to interact. I wouldn't be surprised if over time, there was sport on Talk Radio on weekday evenings and weekend afternoons, at least occasionally.

The phone number for calling in appears to be 0844 499 1000, which whilst cheaper than the one used on talkSPORT, still might put some callers off, unless you get called back. Calling from a mobile could be particularly expensive because of the high access charges. For example, calling from EE on pay-as-you-go will be 51p per minute.

As long as you don't have to pay for the bit before they answer the phone as used to be the case.

I'm sure they'll call back. LBC calls people back, as do other stations.

On my TalkTalk package I have all day and evening calls inclusive , but 084 calls are chargable.
