As long as you don't have to pay for the bit before they answer the phone as used to be the case.
I'm sure they'll call back. LBC calls people back, as do other stations. * He thinks * https://twitter.com/iainlee/status/709465387168047104 |

Still no sign of a talkRADIO app on android. No mention of it on the updated website either.
Same with Virgin. The talkSPORT app contains talkSPORT 2, I wonder if separate apps will be created for talkRADIO and Virgin or will they all be on talkSPORT's app or not at all? |

I was on the podcast that he recorded from the studio last week - when they called you. So I have an 0207 number in my phone which may be a studio number and might get round the 08 number. I don't know what number LBC call you back on but the BBC local stations I've spoken to on air before all call back from an 0345 number which is the one you give out.
God I sound geeky! It will be interesting to see whether callers from 3CR call him more than people from the Absolute era. Obviously 3CR is more recent but the show will be far more like Absolute. I didn't listen much to 3CR so it will be a bit weird if I hear regular 3CR callers because I won't know the history. There may even be people who stopped calling him when he went to Virgin because they didn't like music being played on the show. Oscar_ and grimupnorth are posters on here in that category. So if that's the case there may even be callers from LBC who start calling him again. Nice call by the way!

You don't have to wait for the show to finish to access Listen Again. For example, the output from 1pm to 1.30pm is already available:

But that's not a live show as such is it? Where did you extract the link from?
When I used to listen GG's show the next day they were up on the website in 30 minute sections, but you could never chase play as they were all put up together after the show had finished. The format appears to be: http:// cdn.talksport.com/talkradio/audio/listenagain/ YYYYMMDD_HH00_LA.mp3 or YYYYMMDD_HH30_LA.mp3 20160319_1630_LA.mp3 is already available, less than 5 minutes after the end of that half hour. Obviously the output is rather repetitive at the moment (!) so we'll probably have to wait until Monday to see if this really works. The same seems to work with talkSPORT. The current show runs from 1300 to 1930 but 1630 to 1700 is already here: http://utv.vo.llnwd.net/o16/talkSPOR...19_1630_LA.mp3 |

I'm just following the pattern from the link I extracted from the webpage yesterday. (See my post at 2234)

decent enough app as well. the listen again through the app is up and running which will be really useful for me as I won't be able to listen to all the shows I want to listen to live. good luck to all involved in the launch tomorrow.

This is the most ambitious launch on D2, and we're finally only 1 day away. I will certainly be listening tomorrow. |

talkRADIO is on the Sound Digital multiplex, which is not available in most of East Anglia. The DAB coverage is about 75% of the UK population.

The only reason I know about it is because of the radio forums and websites. |

Strange that it is not being actively marketed, unless they're waiting for it to launch before doing so. I've heard about some clever billboards they'll be using in London, but beyond that nothing.
The only reason I know about it is because of the radio forums and websites. http://radiotoday.co.uk/2016/03/talk...-in-westfield/ Quote:
A media campaign for talkRADIO will launch on the same day as the station – March 21st – and include an experimental live phone in a shopping centre. (It doesn't say which Westfield, but I would guess it is the one in west London).
The phone stunt, on March 24th, will be connected to the studio along with a video link for the presenters, allowing shoppers to have their say on-air. And the adverts, devised by Mindshare, and executed by brand communications agency Lionhouse Creative, will include real time adaptive topics depending on the topics of the day. Mindshare’s social listening team will work alongside talkRADIO’s editorial team to identify which news stories are likely to trend on the day using two social listening tools, Spike & Mashable Velocity. As these stories are then discussed on air, opinions from the presenters will appear as headlines on large digital OOH sites across London from the day of launch, reaching up to 3.1m people. These DOOH sites will be updated in real time throughout the day and as different presenters take to air, with the words in the speech bubble changing according to opinion, and the strapline also switching to reflect discussion around different stories. A similar mechanic will appear in a series of ads in Metro’s Talk section over a period of two weeks, with copy changing daily, echoing the DOOH creative and keeping as topical as possible. Social media activity will include a ‘tweet to complete’ campaign, inviting the public to tweet their opinion to a particular headline with selected tweets turned into graphics that echo the overarching campaign creative. Howard Bareham, Commercial Development Director at the Wireless Group, owner of talkRADIO, commented: “Personality is at the heart of talkRADIO, so it’s only right that it should be launched via a campaign that is both opinionated and engaging. Consumers will really get a flavour of talkRADIO from this campaign, as it puts our presenters’ views on major topics at the forefront, live as they happen.” Mark Baschnonga, Strategy Director at Mindshare added: “Our campaign aims to punctuate the world of beige comments with the vibrant opinion of talkRADIO’s presenters as it happens live on air. We want the talkRADIO speech bubble logo to become synonymous with witty, intelligent and funny opinion on the stories that matter. We are using a real time media approach to encourage the public to tune in and join the conversation as it happens and it’s a great example of how adaptive creative powered by social insights can help our clients engage their target audiences.” |

talkRADIO is not on Freeview or satellite but if you want talkRADIO on your TV there is a workaround. There is a TuneIn app for the Now TV box (currently £14 at Currys) and you can get talkRADIO on there. I've just added it to my presets. I realise this is the same as webstreaming but it might be a good option for some.
You need to search for talkRADIO as all one word, with no space. Some people have had difficulty finding it on the TuneIn app because they have put a space between the two words, and there are a lot of American apps called "talk radio". |
