Thanks radamfi it's a Pure EVOKE-1.

Don't use a space between the two words.

The manual is here:

http://support-uk.pure.com/downloads...e-pdf/download

On page 12 it says you need to hold down the "Autotune" button for two seconds. You will know if you are doing a full scan because it will take a minute or more, whereas a normal scan will only take a few seconds.

The Pure Evoke-1 can also take an external aerial if you are in an area with poor reception, but I don't think that would be necessary in Thurrock. If you are using the built in aerial then you should extend that fully and preferably use it near a window as high as possible.

I assume you mean how many studios do they have ? The answer to that is 1, they will do whats known as a hot seat change. LBC up until recently did the same and still do however they have 2 studios they can use. Like LBC though should something go wrong there other studios in the same building they can use as backup.

Iain's just posted this on Facebook.

Quote:
“Ok...well...tomorrow it happens. After over 4 months off the air, I'm back on the new talkRADIO which launches tomorrow morning, Monday 21st March.

I'll be on weekdays from 10pm until 1am. Delighted too say tomorrow we have the delightful Steven Page on from around 11pm. I'm a huge fan and his new album is just delightful.

Later in the week we have John Sebastian, Andy Partridge, Dennis Locorriere and Matt Haig. A really strong week.

But, it's all about your calls as well. I need you to call in. The phone number and the way talk works it isn't my choice but, hey, I'm just a paid monkey and I can't get everything the way I want it.

I really hope that over the coming months we create something special. I'm very nervous, in fact I'm dreading it, so please, don't judge me on the first show. Give me a few weeks. If after that I still suck, well, there you go. The whole BBC experience really knocked my confidence for six and I've not been very well the past few months. All in all, I'm way off the peak of my powers. If indeed I ever had any powers. Ah well. Let's see.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that we can create some voodoo in the studio tomorrow. That I can get out of this funk. That we can have a laugh. And that...well...let's just see.
Thanks for your support.

Iainly.

T'was the night before Talk Radio UK. They put on a show the evening before launch as a final test transmission.

Can any of you geeks remember what it was?

If you definitely know, keep it to yourself for a little bit and let's see some guesses!

Just a quick note to say thanks to Radamfi for being one of the most helpful folks here and happy listening for tomorrow folks! Sadly I'm at work all day so I suspect all I'll get to listen to is Iain Lee. But I won't be missing Iain's show!!

Sounds like it could be a premium rate number? If so that's a big mistake imo.

It is 7p per minute, plus the operator's access charge. For BT, for most customers that is 10.19p/10.24p per minute

http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/d...1-july-2015%3F

For mobiles, it is generally considerably more, typically 44p or 45p per minute.

I think I must have been doind a normal scan then. I'll take a look and give that a go. Thanks.

Thanks. They'd have been better with a 03 number imo. They're going to put people off calling all for the sake of a few quid.

I'm not paying premium rates not included with my package.

You'll only be on the phone to them a minute while they take your name and phone number. If they're as efficient as LBC they will only need to do that the first time you phone in.

yes, they have said that they'll phone people back although a cheaper number would have encouraged more callers IMO.
