Well she read the news at 6.30 -- no bulletin at 6 (although she did the papers in the first half hour)!

Yep. Send them messages on twitter and Facebook, get the number changed to an 03 or 0800 number. I keep pestering!

They've just played a trailer for Iain Lee.

I'm not sure why they think debt was a lively, uplifting subject to kick off the station.

Been listening tfor the last 40 mnutes since 7am. Glad to say there's not much talk of current affiars yet (Ian Duncan Smith was one of the mooted topics).

Mostly because they commissioned the survey they're discussing on the air, I think.

They talked a lot about IDS between 6 and 7 but it is refreshing that they've avoided it for so much of this morning.

They have rather jumped in at the deep and with the topics. Assumedly with the intention of prompting callers more than providing an uplifting conversation.

Just chase playing now on the train and I don't know if I can ever get used to the awful sound quality.

The Virgin stream is still broadcasting the talkRADIO promo loop. This is to be expected, as on the launch of talkSPORT 2, the talkRADIO and Virgin streams continued broadcasting the talkSPORT 2 promo until that afternoon.

I think the DAB sound quality is better so I'll be recording Iain Lee on DAB, and also 24/7 output for the first week or so.

Seems to have quite a bit of different content which I like. I noticed the 'male' talkSPORT orientated advertising! I'll listen to a podcast of this morning's BBC Essex James Whale show which is sometimes a little light and silly and compare and contrast.

This is the sort of post you get on the LBC thread, I hope this thread doesn't go the same way.

Seems someone is standing in for James Whale on BBC Essex. Can the other stations take the competition I wonder?

Sounds okay to me, a bit of this and bit of that. First days are always tricky, but sounds okay to me. I've heard a few callers, and also Paul said just after 8am "It's B..." nearly saying BBC London before correcting himself. A common issue when you've spent a long time at one station and join another - and something I've done once or twice!

I personally like it, much fresher and upbeat compared to the stale LBC!
