Was there from the start to the very end on his Xfm breakfast show. Matt Dyson managed to squeeze some corkers into his 7am bulletin.

Hope it sticks around but the whole premise of Headline Hijack on X was that peoples alarms go off at 7 and so nobody would hear the set up. That's not going to work on mid-afternoons.

I love the variety of the output so far today. There aren't many stations that swing from politics in the morning to comedy in the afternoon. Makes LBC seem a bit po-faced by comparison.

I really hope there's an audience for this kind of radio.

They must fix the soundprocessing, not only on the stream but also on DAB I notice here. Don't know what they using for soundprocessing? Optimod, Omnia?

Been listening on and off for most of the day and wasn't really feeling it but Jon Holmes has turned things around brilliantly.
As other posters have said: why on Earth does he not have the drive time show?
Really looking forward to radio genius Iain Lee tonight as well.

Been listening on and off since 6AM and Jon Holmes is by far and away the best presenter on the station so far. I really hope this station succeeds as this is the kind of thing I would like to listen to in the afternoon

I've only been listening to Jon Holmes since 3PM but it's cracking IMO

Very wacky and edgy, a bit like the early days on the original Talk Radio - they should bring back Caesar The Geezer and Terry Christian

I've popped together a rough and ready podcast feed for Holmes and Lee for my own use. Caution - may break your podcast app!

Feedback welcome. If they work (or not) let me know. I'll extend to other programmes.

I've just heard the Severn Tunnel "debate". This is remarkable stuff.

But you're missing a debate on IDS on LBC

Just put the John Holmes one into my iPhone and it worked, it's only 30mins so maybe try again later. Thanks very much anyway.

Edit: all episodes are showing now, thanks again.

The DAB clipping is very annoying. Surely doesn't take long to resolve, just reduce the gain.

Sam Delaney also sticking the boot into other radio stations, after what sounded like a few technical difficulties (multiple idents) at the start of the show.

I didn't listen to 3CR that much so I'm not that familiar with his 3CR callers but there were some good callers on his WM show that I would like to hear again. 3CR is more recent but the new show is likely to be more like LBC/Absolute, so it might be too risqué or unstructured for some of his previous BBC listeners.

If there are still technical problems with the calls, that could be an issue as his guest isn't on until after midnight. But if Kath is producer, then they will be able to chat without calls no problem.”

The only reason I think there might not be so many 3CR callers is because most of them have to get up early - and that's why they became regulars at breakfast, especially people who used to be on between 6 and 7am.

But as you say if Kath is there then there will be no dead air to fill!

Clipping also on the stream. I guess they don't using any processing at all, or badly tweaked.

Jon Holmes was utterly brilliant! Never heard him before and had no idea what to expect, but the its of the show I caught around the school run etc where fantastic laugh out loud funny. As someone else here said, that's when TalkRadio came alive for me today!

Let's hope Iain's as good tonight!

The sound quality for me over DAB is terrible. Sounds distorted and fuzzy. Anyone else having this?

EDIT - sorry, reading back, I can see it's not just me

Agreed.

I have never heard of him either & I wasn't expecting that kind of show, especially at that time of day, but it was funny & a great alternative to the competition.

Yes, awful. Sounds like community radio.

I listened to Julia Hartley-Brewer from 10am to 12pm. Not one single caller in those 2 hours. They almost had one but managed to lose him!

She repeatedly gave out the wrong phone number, saying 0845 instead of 0844. They might explain the lack of callers. Early days yet, I will give it time, but I'm not over impressed so far.
