Lady Nugee was made to sound incredibly shallow and vacuous by JHB and the Falklands veteran.

Which she is anyway, but it was still a wonderful listen.

Why does Virgin Radio have a more memorable number than Talk Radio? Their number is 03330033300 whereas Talk Radio's number is 08444991000

More importantly, Virgin's phone number is a geographical number, meaning it is regular priced (that is, not premium) and is included in inclusive call plans.

Does anybody know if the Jon Holmes Talk radio podcast is a daily thing or a weekly thing and are they the best bits of the week or each day?
As the two currently available are 1 hour and 2 mins long and another one is 9 mins long. Thanks

Do you think they've learnt from the comments on TalkRadio or just assuming less people will call in so not trying to monetise it so much?

I doubt it would have anything to do with listener feedback and maybe more to do with your second idea. Also maybe they have to think of the Virgin brand too so perhaps Virgin wouldn't like to be associated with phone number profiteering.
EPIC.PERSON.

Jon Holmes finished today with Paolo Nutini's Iron Sky with the speech replaced by Ronnie Corbett quotes. I thought that was amazing.

Jon also played that as his penultimate song on Radio X and replaced the speech by parts of Odd Miliband's resignation speech. That song is unbelievably versatile.

Anyone notice the listen again files are a bit on the quiet side? I'm listening to them on my phone and I can hardly hear it sometimes.

The main talkSPORT site is like that as well.

Yes he's back, the one and only Nigel from Maidstone rang the Iain Lee show last night. I'm still making my mind up on Iain Lee but if he carries on being like he was with Nigel last night I will quickly become a fan.

Yes he took the P a little bit but he didn't try to completely ridicule him like some have in the past, I liked how Iain Lee handled him even though he is a complete fruitcake he gave him a little respect and I liked that.

Nigel was told he can phone in any night he wants and "they'll always be a spot and that's a promise" .. I hope Iain realises what he's in for.

I'm reluctant to ask in case I'm missing the joke rather embarrassingly, but here goes:

Does Jon Holmes really send meat to competition winners?

Yes, he has a butcher mate in Essex somewhere (Brentford?).

(It's a Radio X thing brought over - he gave away meat because Chris Moyles took the entire budget for prizes!)

Ah, thanks. That's probably Brentwood if the butcher is in Essex.

Correct, his first show will be on May 27th, i have been told if he becomes mayor, he will stick with 1 show per week, however if he fails he will eventually get 3 shows per week.

3 shows a week, interesting. Does that mean 3 weekdays 7pm-10pm or extra shows at the weekend

Most likely weekends -- probably in place of the reruns (so Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons)?

Wow, that's wonderful Rich Tea, I really can't thank you enough mate. Very kind of you to take the time. Sorry I didn't reply earlier but I've been away.

I'll start working my way through the list now and continue over the weekend. By the time I've fininshed, I should have a better idea of what subjects/guests I should explore further.

The last podcast I listened to was the recent Mark Devlin one. I could sense Howard's frustration with Mark as he made bold claims of mass mind control but completely failed to back any of them up!

Thanks again mate. I'm looking forward to Sunday night for the next Howard Hughes show!

Why is Jon Holmes doing a poor impersonation of Stewart Lee with his style of delivery? I haven't noticed this before, but now it's really bugging me.

That makes sense, I hope you're right.

I'm looking forward to hearing George on again. Whatever one might think of his views, his programmes were always interesting to listen to in my opinion. Same with Peter Hitchens when he used to be on the old TalkRadio.

Never heard him before Talk radio although knew of him. I think its a great listen for the limited time I can hear it on my lunch break. Ive downloaded the podcast I just wish they would give him drive time and switch Delaney to afternoons.

Is it possible that DriveTime is somehow 'protected' and they feel an obligation to have a more serious news agenda in that slot? .
