Losses for the first couple of years across talkRADIO, talkSPORT 2 and Virgin are expected and budgeted for. Only a modest audience is required for break even.

https://www.wirelessgroupplc.com/get...t.pdf?ext=.pdf

The launch and establishment of our three new recently launched national radio stations on D2 is a key priority for 2016. talkSPORT 2 and talkRADIO will leverage talkSPORT’s brand heritage while Virgin Radio will have instant brand recognition. All three stations will be supported by existing infrastructureand will benefit from cross promotion, thereby helping to keep costs as low as possible. Our low cost model
for these digital stations envisages breakeven being achieved at modest audience delivery levels. Operating losses at the three stations are anticipated to be circa £3.6m in 2016, moving to a small loss in 2017 and growing profitably beyond this. 50% of our forecast 2016 revenue for the D2 stations has already been achieved.

Where's the fun in that? He's always had radio "feuds", a lot of the time they are fake.
For example that strange interview he did with Tommy Boyd on his Pocket Radio Show. At the time I was fuming because I thought Iain was a complete wnaker to Tommy, but subsequently started to realise that it may not have been entirely serious.

The stream now gives you a description of the show you are listening to. So now it says "On Air Now: Drive with Delaney - Sam Delaney drives you home with laughs, big interviews and topics that will get you talking."

It seems odd to have Sam Delaney doing drive time Monday to Thursday only. Normally any changes to schedules on Fridays take place after drive, when the weekend gets going. It's even stranger that drive time is different on a Friday when normal weekday Talkradio programmes resume afterwards from 7PM.

From what Yasmeen said, its to do with her doing a more arty/whats on style show as people drive home for the weekend etc.

Although George Galloway will probably be on Fridays at 7pm after the London mayoral election.

I think Galloway was the person that Iain was talking about last night when he referred to someone he couldn't mention on the JHB call.

Listening to Iain Lee these past 2 weeks on this TalkRadio show of his it has become so apparent to me that he is entirely influenced by Tommy Boyd and his style of radio because he's effectively taken it off the shelf and copied it fully from the master.

Absolutely, and he'd be the first to admit it. He always says the main three influences on his radio style are the three B's; Boyd Baker and Bull. And a bit of Nick Abbot.

He seems to have completely gone off the radar since Play Talk folded. I think I heard someone say he was promoting wrestling or similar events but I could be wrong..? Maybe he has lost his appetite for the broadcasting business - I'm sure TalkRADIO management would bite his arm off if he was available for a slot.

You are probably thinking of James Stannage.

I used to listen to Jim Reeve (aka James H Reeve) who was a previous phone-in host in that slot in the late 80s, who was also on Talk Radio.

Iain videoed the show Tuesday and last night. He didn't intend it to be a permanent thing, but after he got a caller last night as a direct result of being on Periscope, it sounds like he will be doing it from now on.

Here is the link

https://www.periscope.tv/iainlee

Big Al used to do a show on Isle of Wight Radio which was simulcast on Solent TV. The caller Oscar talks to him about Iain Lee:

Then Agent Chris (Iain's producer on LBC) phones him up to invite him on the show

Plus the fact that he was pushing 300 live viewers early in the show and was trending on periscope worldwide, at which point he though hang on we've got something here.

If only we had half a dozen Iain Lees who could fill the whole schedule...

Actually Iain said in one of his pre show pericopes that he had spoken to talk radio management about getting Boyd in for a slot and he said they were not intrested.

If I didn't know better I'd say the segment from about 6:20 to 6:45 on the Sam Delaney show was a wind up but I fear there really are people out there like that. its enough to turn me in to a tory! give it a listen-- poor old Sam seemed bemused bythe whole thing.

How dare you that's MY YouTube account.

I've really enjoyed the Iain Lee show and now see what people have been telling me for ages. I'm keeping an eye open for Nigel popping up on it but I can't listen to the whole show all he time so if you Rich or anyone else spot him it'd be nice if you could mention it on this thread.

At first I thought that was an official TalkRadio account for Iain Lee's show, then took a closer peek and realised it was likely not, and had about a 40% inkling it might just be yours, but only after I'd posted the links when I saw they matched the two previous ones you posted of periscope. I enjoyed them anyway. I'm not giving the whole 3 hours a night a listen, that's too indulgent. I've been dipping in and out this week, but yes, if I hear I'll drop it on here.
