You don't need iTunes for that. Just right click on any of the "Play Now" links and choose the save option.

This lack of callers is increasingly putting me off listening. A lot of the guests appear on other radio and television shows. I have heard the same guest on TalkRadio and LBC on the same day JHB's show moves from one issue to another very quickly. That will only discourage people from calling in because they think the show has moved on and they are no longer discussing what the caller would have called in about. When you've been listening to a presenter long enough, you have a good idea what they will think. For example, I know JHB wants the UK to leave the EU. I knew that long before the shouting match at the beginning of her show. This isn't the US. I don't think people tune into shows just to get the perspectives of their guests. They want to hear the wider range of perspectives that only callers - who aren't simply repeating their arguments over and over like guests - can offer. Quote:
I hope your right and they've planned it this way, less calls and more presenter/invited guest participation.
I think confidence presenters and guests have in the station will start to decrease from August after the listening figures are published. Quote:

I don't think I've ever heard bareback with an escort mentioned on the radio at any time of day, never mind 1 o'clock in the afternoon!

Did feel a bit Sorry for the guy on the lonely lunch club today, as he seemed clearly to have Aspergers or something, probably why he was still Fairly childlike.
But good on the guy for taking it as a bit of fun |

How long until guests conclude that if there are few calls there are few listeners, and so appearing on the station is a waste of time? How long until presenters become demoralised because they don't have an audience as large as they think they should?
![]() If it's a planned thing to have less callers per show I think that's a wrong move and they should change it. |

I've not had much time to get used to it yet but it's seems after having a go on it Iain Lee's talkRADIO podcasts only last about half an hour each on that FeedBurner website.

Those are supposed to be about half an hour long as they are "best of" podcasts. talkRADIO does not do official full show podcasts but plan to do so in the future (see my message from earlier today).

This is in stark contrast to the Gould Bros who I am listening to right now - who have just spent the last hour chatting about tipping serving staff. A much more chilled and less urgent conversation. Delaney's show is also fairly unstructured as he just slid back and forth among the conversations - I got the feeling you could have called and talked about anything at any point in the show. |

I can now see how my earlier post reads but it wasn't meant that way it reads, I want more callers per show but what I was trying to say was I hope they're not getting low callers because listeners aren't listening to the station and I hope it's been planned to have less calls and more presenter participation. [oh hell it's now making less sense]
![]() The station probably plannedned to have lots of guests in case there aren't many callers, and not because they'd rather have lots of guests than have lots of callers. Lots of callers would be proof the station was very successful. |

A radio station that uses the tagline "we'll get you talking" wants callers Billy, surely that is self evident?

Personally the only shows i've enjoyed listening to so far are Johnny & Ash, Iain Lee & The Unexplained. I'm not in a position to listen to Jon Holmes easily due to my job working late shifts, but from what i've heard I reckon i'd probably enjoy listening to him also. One thing is for sure if Iain Lee's show had only 2 or 3 calls throughout and became more pre-arranged interview driven I would definitely be tuning out. I like the interaction with callers some regular, some one off's like the drunk aussie teachers. I feel it makes for a very entertaining show that random mixture that only callers can bring. Despite the Gould brothers having a lack of calls I like their banter and with the few listeners they do have phoning in they always have a good laugh with them. The Unexplained is not helped by the lack of genuine callers, also some of the guests sound a bit monotone & boring and some topics that are discussed are hardly going to engage the listeners. I can imagine some people thinking 'this is a load of tosh' and switching off which is a shame as I do like the show format, but it may not have a wide enough appeal. Maybe he would be better off sticking to controversial and popular topics such as ghosts & poltergeists, ufo's and various conspiracies. The lock ness monster probably isn't the ideal subject matter when initially trying to build a show up.

Some people who aren't reading the Iain Lee thread may be interested to hear the last half hour of Iain's show last night because Jon Holmes and Ginger Producer Dave were on it. There was a launch party for talkSPORT 2, Virgin and talkRADIO so Jon and Dave decided to visit Iain's show after the party.
