Given how enthusiastic Iain Lee is about his new show, if you were really cynical you might think that he engineered his own demise so that he could become available for talkRADIO. If he was given the choice of two jobs, one at 3CR and one at talkRADIO, he would presumably have found the latter more interesting, especially if he would be getting the late night slot like he has done. But if you play by the rules then breakfast at 3CR is probably a safer long term bet, even if it isn't quite as interesting as a job at talkRADIO might be.
However, we don't yet know what kind of show he will be doing. Most of us probably hope he will be doing something light-hearted, and his Tweets have pointed in that direction, but we probably won't know until the show starts. Personally, I'm not expecting the craziness of the LBC/Virgin/Absolute shows but something like his 3CR Rabbit Hole or later WM shows would be fine with me.
