The sports news guy told Jon to stop interrupting him today so they either recorded a special version for Jon or did it live on that occasion.
Haha what time? I had a feeling that was coming.

My favourite was probably the sport live from the kennels, and the ridiculous cow moo'ing.

It was the sport after the 2 o'clock news, but not after the 3 o'clock news.

Does anybody do an 'unofficial' edited-full-show Jon Holmes podcast, like the Iain Lee one?
Yes!

It's what I use daily on the commute home!

its the iain url, but with jon instead of iain. jon.php

I wonder if there are any circumstances where a contestant for a meat game doesn't actually win meat? You still get meat if you score less (fewer) points against Cornelius, but what happens if you play Dead or Alive (so no other contestant) and score no points? Maybe that happened when he worked at the X place?

I remember it happening once. Was either dead or alive or band or ... ?

Basically, as you might expect, "No points" was checked and 'the system' reported that zero points was enough to win the meat

I'd do lonely lunch too - but I'm just not interesting enough!

I noticed Ronnie (from Radio X Weekend's) was doing something with Virgin Radio earlier so I asked when she was heading to Talk.

I hope Ronnie does appear on Jon's show, she was excellent on his weekened show on Radio X.

Whilst there were normal shows on the Easter weekend, this forthcoming bank holiday will have different shows from 10am to 7pm, with Penny Smith in for JHB, Jake Yapp in for Jon Holmes and Yasmeen Khan in for Sam Delaney.

That's interesting. I thought and hoped Nick Margerrison would have stood in for JHB. At least we get to hear Yasmeen again.

The Goulds have had several calls this week. I think their show is making the most progress in terms of listener-participation.

The election is on Thursday so I thought he would be starting next Friday but it doesn't show that at the moment

I don't think they are allowed to even promote his show until after the election is over.

The count doesn't start until 8am Friday and the result's unlikely to be declared until late Friday evening so he definitely won't be on next week.

Then the following week is Friday 13th.

Galloway is an interesting listen, I don't agree with most of his views, but then if you never listen to a range of opinions you can't truly say you're being open minded and listening to all sides of the spectrum. I think he is entertaining to listen to as well, better than most of the middle of the road chit chat.

I don't think George Galloway should take the most successful slot on the station. I know it was all planned before the station launched, and it is unusual to make drastic schedule changes so soon after launch, but I think the one slot that has worked so far is the 7 until 10 slot, and I think a reason it has worked is that presenters are more approachable and not very divisive. I would feel the same if JHB was moving into this slot on Fridays for the same reason, even though she is one of my favourite presenters.

most successful slot on the station? think Iain Lee might lay claim to that to be honest. also, like him or not, Galloway will probably not be short of callers to his show. Is this a case that your just disapointed that a show you liked, that was never actually going to be on a Friday long term anyway, is going? don't get me wrong, i can't stand GG as a human being but to say his show should be moved before its even been on is, IMO, silly.

Am I correct in thinking that George will take over from Yasmeen? I was really starting to warm to her.

He would be if it wasn't for his previous work. Most of the callers are Iain Lee fans. All the other presenters started from nothing.

I am disappointed about that, but if the show had been as successful as all the other shows I don't think there would be a case for keeping it in that slot. I rarely listen to the whole show on Fridays because I listen to rugby league and Home Front, but I usually listen to the first hour.

Saturday evenings 6 until 9 are free, and there is room on Sunday evenings too. I think Friday should be kept to the current format.
