The website is showing Jonny Gould & Ash for next Friday at 7pm, but that could change by then.

Maybe Galloway may not be able to broadcast until after the EU referendum as he's publicly backing one side.

Jake Yapp on a Friday night is brilliant. It's a shame this is only temporary.

The good news is Yasmeen the Bristol is back on Monday.

What I love is the handover at 4pm... Crazy show too 4pm, sensible after but brilliant handover.

By the way, did anyone hear Jon Holmes' Paul Rossmaster quiz from yesterday? Absolutely incredible what he gets away with - Paul Ross gets destroyed throughout including a particularly juicy comment about management.

Worth a listen at 3:40ish yesterday!

I love the way he gets "heavy set" into nearly every question

Plus during a discussion with Delaney, Sam mentioned they'd be talking about the nazi dog story (was on Wednesday I think). Jon pointed out he thought it presented 10-1 on talk radio.

Cringe! Haha

Handovers in general are excellent throughout the station.

I did listen and I'm guessing you are particularly talking about the first question. He said, talking about a fictional Paul Ross weapon, "there are high level discussions whether deploying Paul Ross in the first place was the right thing to do". It didn't hit me at the time but having listened to it again after reading your post I now realise how close to the bone that was. The criticism of the show's content in Paul Rossmaster probably hurts more than the frequent dogging jokes.

Haha a lot of the show involves spotting the jokes or making your own punchlines.

Also liked the comments about 'inane Twitter polls vaguely connected to the shows output".

Thing is... The breakfast show is probably the weakest show.

I wonder whether Jon and Paul Ross ever get to meet in the office? There's obviously a lot of preparation required for the show so I assume that they must arrive in the morning, possibly not much later than the end of Paul Ross's show? I do remember listening to Ken Brucemaster once or twice years ago back when he was on 6 Music but I don't remember it getting vaguely as outrageous as Paul Rossmaster. Does he have reason to have beef with Paul Ross? The only thing I can think of is that after the format change at LBC in 2007, Paul was given Jon's Friday show so that Paul did Monday to Friday instead of just Monday to Thursday.

Of course, Paul may be the target simply because he's on breakfast and therefore the most prominent target. Did he have a someone-master feature on XFM/Radio X?

it was Vernon Kaymaster at Radio X however it wasnt quite as edgy as Paul Rossmaster. Moyles didnt get menioned too much at Radio X, any jokes that were made about Moyles were very vauge and he wasnt named most of the time but if you knew Moyles past you knew who it was aimed at.

Slightly off topic, but talkRadio related, anybody know if the music beds are library cuts or commercial pop/dance instrumentals? The Paul Ross and Penny Smith beds sound very familiar, or is it just that I've heard them quite a lot?!

Penny's is a instrumental of a dance song. The name I can't remember but it's been in the chart recently.

I like the way each show has its own music. That's like LBC 10 years ago, although only some shows had their own tune, and for LBC some of them were custom made by the jingle company. Using different music for each show emphasises that each show is distinct. After half a second of listening to the Penny Smith trail I know what show it is promoting.

Does anyone know what Iain Lee's (official) bed music is?

The original Talk Radio UK used instrumental cuts or intros.

One that springs to mind is Blancmange - Living on the Ceiling. The intro was I think used across several shows but I certainly remember Tommy Boyd using it.

I'll listen out for Ian Lee's.

Perhaps they could change the DAB scrolling text to tell you the current programme, instead of always saying "home of Paul Ross"?

There will be a competition running this week on Drive where you can win £1,000. There have been adverts and live reads about it.

I'm having my first proper listen to Bob Mills. I'm a bit disappointed. Maybe it's the guest tonight, but so far, it's all bit, well, boring...

Ooh - I had a call today saying I'd been shortlisted for this competition to go on air...! Eek!
